Don't understand the Bill love in. I appreciate everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but bemused at the love he gets.

This fella is the luckiest man to ever call themselves a blue. I can't reiterate enough.

  • How lucky he was that Moyes fell into his lap? He wanted to appoint Gary Megson
  • 20 years of ownership, overseeing the longest trophyless period in our entire history, and we've been through two bloody wars
  • Lied repeatedly about basically everything. Safety Certificates for Goodison? Re-Mortgaging his house to "save" the club.
  • Asset Stripped the Club from top to bottom. That pint at half time? Sodexo say thanks for the £4.
  • Pushed away repeated interest, until he found someone who'd keep him on the board
  • Sold every key player we had over a 10 year period... Lescott, Arteta, Rooney to ensure the books were "balanced", Moyes somehow didn't get us relegated
  • Nearly moved us to Kirkby, on a basic, dross stadium, with dire transport
  • Wants to reappoint Moyes
  • Wants to appoint Pereira based on an interview 6 years ago
  • Turned the whole club from a Sleeping Giant to "Little Old Everton", a soft bunch who roll over at every opportunity. Where the vast majority of the fanbase are happy to settle for "best of the rest".
  • Zero Anfield Wins since his takeover

Kenwright? Nah, biggest stain on Everton's history ever.

I am not fully onboard with Bill at all but some of the things you blame him for ? read them again and see how stupid they are ,not all but "transport links ""wants to employ someone based on an interview 6 years ago ? where did you glean that info?

We've considered interviewing Vitor Pereira based on him impressing during an interview in 2013, when we hired Martinez. Moshiri wasn't around then. It's on him, same as him wanting Moyes back.

Here

The stadium in Kirkby would have been a nightmare for the design was cheap and transport was awful, was told repeatedly by everyone about this and still proceeded.

As I said before I agree with some of what you posted but blaming him for transport links ! And you said he was going to appoint based on a 6 year old interview but now I see you have reworded it .

...I’m sure he’s a true Evertonian, I’m sure he’s one of us but he’s always been a bit too romantic for my likes, a bit too luvvy. Lots of what he says doesn’t need to be said.

i don’t dislike the bloke but I’d prefer a Chairman to have a more focused and business-like strategic approach. Make him Club President and leave the day to day running of the club to others.

I can't help but like Bill he's that old Evertonian "we are the best" no matter what facts say diehard but he lost my support with the ill fated Kirkby project which surrendered the city to the reds and ultimately would have killed this club.

I believe he started with honourable intentions saying if someone appeared with more financial clout he would move on but the benefits of being chairman were simply massive so he hung on. His personal profile shot up benefiting his theatrical business plus the growth of the Prem made a club with an assured presence a very saleable item. He was guaranteed millions in profit whenever he decided to sell up and he knew it.

Likeable blue ultimately tainted by putting his own interests before that of the club..
