Unfortunately I think the problems are multifaceted. I agree with the general thought that Kenwright would be gone by now but Moshiri has been suckered in with the Bill does everything right - clearly he got lucky with Moyes. Without the money to spend more often than not we ended up with 'Everton' type players who if they wanted to win trophies had to play well enough to get in the shop window. Opposed to everyone starts on big money and will never go on to bigger things or had already stepped down.

Moshiri has interfered thinking it's a pick n mix, although to be fair how many players we don't know...Iwobi for sure.

The hegemony of the big clubs already upset having had City and Spurs break into the CL group's cash has pretty much scuppered us right from the off, 1) there were already 6 big clubs with more money and better players to cockblock us from trophies and finishing in a position that allows us to get Europe and see that progress that makes everyone believe we are heading in the right direction and 2) I wouldn't put it past them that they've already bribed whoever they need to to keep us down.

It was always going to be struggle. Our only foothold was ruined when we decided to buy 4 number 10's than get 1/2 world class players in our weakest positions. And of course Ancelotti doing a bunk...the cockwomble.
After the initial splurge didn't work out, there should have been a move towards overhauling the club's off-field performance with a view to becoming self-sufficient (commercial deals, executive appointments, recruitment department, etc).

Instead, what we have is a situation where we've kicked the can down the road from where we were heading under Kenwright and Martinez in 2016, relying on cash injections that, as you say, the protectionist rules have now outlawed.

Im sorry mate you cant have it both ways Moshiri is Kenwrights "chosen investor" he brought him in because he would allow him to stay as chairman, he blew Mansoor out because he wouldn't let him stay as chairman. "Be careful what you wish for" I'm sorry when we go down I will remind you of those words because it will be on Kenwrights watch and you and all the other sycophants will be to blame!!
Bit it's not Kenwright watch, and hasn't been for 6 years, when we go down it will be on Moshiri.

And who got Moshiri again ? But let's be honest no one to my knowledge complained when Moshiri bought Kenwright and the rest of his klan out did they, no, to my knowledge it was the polar opposite after years of cashstrapped Everton we were in the big league. Oh god if only there was such a thing as hindsight.
Agree on the hindsight thing, people were desperate for Bill to sell, in hindsight we needed him to not sell, it was the worse thing to happen in a generation.

I don't disagree but after that we still got a new highly respected DoF, who Chelsea were courting and eventually we got Ancelotti and James and we had that wonderful moment for a couple of months were everything was perfect or near to. That was only 18 months ago. That's how quickly it turned to dung.

Was it overstretching - probably (with hindsight that's a definitely), but it could have worked and I don't blame them for trying. Now we are left with demotivated players who were promised one thing but ended up with another. In any walk of life that is hard to deal with.

It does mean from here we have to build back up from scratch, no shortcuts, like you say from appointments to the players we choose. Not after the glamour but creating a stable, strong platform that operates well and consistently (like Wolves etc.) then try and add the bells and whistles once we get (if we ever get) back to that point.

Sorry everyone is of course entitled to their opinion but we were on the downslope already, without the cash injection we would have fallen further. Keeping Bill wouldn't have made it all okay and the only other owner since that would have or could have made us any better would have been the Saudi's.

I was very happy with Ancelotti and Rodriguez, but if somebody in the hierarchy didn't know that it was leading to a crash that would end with the manager walking ahead of a £1.7m summer transfer spend, the club isn't being run properly.

Agreed. The whole club needs a reset and I think us fans need to adjust our expectations for a while. Build a hard working, up and coming squad and hope we can push into the top half in a year or two (assuming we don’t go down this season). Expecting to turn this squad into European contenders in one summer just isn’t realistic.

Yes but the hope would have been European football of at least the Thursday night variety to boost the coffers by quire a few million - it was a calculated risk and although it failed I'd rather have given that a go than just be treading water.

Yes treading water sounds good now but in real terms we will still lose our minds if we kept finishing 10-13th.

Most of them won’t be arsed. As long as bill is still around. Coleman in the team, Tom davies as captain. They will be happy

I think fans just need to be a bit more realistic and accept where we are. Too many of the fanbase are stuck in Moyes/Kenwright era Everton when it was a top 4 rather than a top 6 and the PL was quite different and we were much more of a threat. There is a lot of clearing out that needs to be done and changes that need making and someone (whether thats Frank or anyone else) has to be given a chance to do it their own way, and with no interference from messrs Moshiri and Kenwright and the fans just need to be patient and let it happen. Lets just hope we stay up and its in the PL.

Yeah, and loads of idiots were moaning about that too, just like they were when there was a loose link to Arteta, and To Eddie Howe, all of who are doing a good job, while Frank is having a mare after Rafael had one.
I didn’t want moyes and still wouldn’t take him back.

Howe spent a fortune at Bournemouth and went down. He was something like Newcastles 5th choice and if they’re serious about challenging, he will be gone soon enough.

And Arteta inherited a much better squad at Arsenal he took over at Christmas, they spent a 100mil the summer before and in 2yrs he’s got a debt on spending of 180mil. And Arsenal fans Weren’t happy with him for most of last season.
