How did he stitch up the Playhouse?

Many years ago before I knew the truth about him I met somebody who had dealings with him in the theatre business. To my then surprise he told me what a nasty, vindictive, arrogant person BK was. I took it with a pinch of salt as I was at that time under BK's spell but nevertheless I never forgot what that guy told me. Lo and behold, it turns out he was spot-on.
Plenty of people in the theatre world have Kenwright stories.

Just like Everton, the star of the show is Kenwright.

When he's gone I'm looking forward to all the bullied and fearful coming out with their stories.

He's an awful man.

Well, to be fair, I can only speak as I find - I met him, spoke at length with him and I found him be seemingly a very genuine guy with an abiding love for the club.

Now, of course, he could have been a lying charlatan who completely fooled me, or things might have changed in the 27 or so years since that particular meeting. Either way, I can only relate the impression I got first hand...
Dont forget folks he is an Actor by trade, not a great one in Corrie. His finest performance has been to keep us fooled for all these years. Liverpool FC please take him back, we are no threat to you now. Release us from his grip.

He roughly did what he's done to Everton.
Stripped it of everything and shipped it off to that there London leaving it broke and sunk.

He was despised in the city long before he spread his poison to L4.

Funny that when somebody takes over a club, the fans normally get a brief history of the man/ person involved, funny that the Echo never mentioned that, in fact as I remember there was not a bad word said about Kenwright.

Can you elaborate further on his actions ?

Probably not on here in case it gets the site in any legal wrangles. I'll have a look for some stuff from the time and post that but safe to say he packed everything it had into a lovely Bill Kenwright Productions shaped box and shipped it South leaving a carcass of a theatre company with a lot of lives ruined and a long fight to get it back to where it is today.
Still makes me very proud walking past knowing I helped get it back to what it always was and should have been.

He's a vile bully with little care or forethought for anything or anyone other than William Kenwright CBE

Destroying a beloved institution for his own benefit?

Now that sounds familiar.

The litmus test for a so called fan is people know you went to the match. I went home and away all through the seventies and Kenwright was never mentioned as a fan. Eighties I dont recall him, he just seemed to appear when the ownership was not wanted by the Moores family. The rest is history and Uncle Cyril. I would imagine he was a little bit of a football fan with a red leaning but he wanted profile and knew where he would likely get some. I don't think he ever imagined it would make him so wealthy. I know where I want him.

At the end of the day he wanted Everton as his own personal possession to do with as he pleased, and all the while seeing the value of his shareholding increasing exponentially and knowing he was going to make a killing on it if he could hold out for long enough before selling. During which time we had no investment in the club while everything was sold off to keep us afloat. Then he sells to a mug who paid off his debts and kept him as chairman.

The longer you look at it the more you realise that it has been the biggest con trick in English football history. And it seems we are now about to pay the price for it.

I give you this. I have hardly been since I realised I was being conned into thinking my club was small time. I graduated over many years supporting to the main stand. In all these years even the seats have not been replaced. Decent paying speccies on the same piece of wood for fifty years. In the days of Moores you even got a cushion and free programme. I cant think of one improvement for the general speccie that Kenwright has authorised.

I have a vivid memory of him at Villa away in the mid 80's. To be fair, he was well known as a celebrity Evertonian then. He stood at the front row of the upper tier looking down on the Evertonians. In a way that's what he's been doing for the last 3 decades Or was it at Man Utd? My memory is going.

It was, at the time, the oldest repertory theatre in Britain.

Then along came Bill and his mate liquidation.
The Equity union Leader said his production company was the
Worst payer around.
He also got called out for publication of critics reviews of a play , on advertising from London publications , when the play had not appeared in London.
The man is a born liar
