Apologies. There was protests back in 2012, the protest took place on the day we played Aston Villa. The chairman appeared on the screen minutes into the game and was applauded by fans. Here is the video.

Plenty clapped but not the majority. The fella next to me started clapping then stopped when he realised he was pretty much alone in our immediate section. I feel his/their collective shame now (he still sits next to me). Kenwright's played the divide and conquer game for decades, but it's all finally caught up with him. Johnson wouldn't have survived a tiny fraction of BKs misdemeanours.

Shame on anyone that’s ever supported the charlatan who saddled the club with debt and then asset stripped it by selling Rooney and the training ground to pay his debt back. World’s greatest ever bloo in der whole wide werld.
How anyone who's witnessed what he's been up to for the last 20 years can think he deserves credit for anything is genuinely baffling to me.

Watching that again makes me sick to my stomach. All those who clapped him while he sat their with a smug fat face lapping it up should be deeply ashamed .Make no mistake you are as much to blame for the current plight as the clowns running the club all this could have been avoided.
From that footage the talk of silent majority is nonsense it was quite a small minority clapping but for those that did you disgust me as your stupidity will ultimately kill this club

People can be fooled by a snake oil salesman

You have to remember the whole media machine of the club including ex players like Graeme Sharp ("one man and his dog"), employees like Darren Griffiths etc

People were pushed out relentlessly to push a pro Bill Kenwright narrative and/or to muddy the waters.

It was a deliberate campaign against Blue Union

This time it has failed utterly against #AllTogetherNow and NSNOW

Things have changed since Blue Union days. More mobile phones. More cameras. More Internet. More scrutiny

The nonsense individuals at the club tried to pull. People can see through it

The games Bill Kenwright plays don't work like they used to

It was all pretty obvious at the time IMO. That recorded interview that BK did with the Blue Union was an absolute car crash.

Still makes me annoyed every time I see that clip

I think things have changed a great deal since then.

More of the fanbase is connected and online than in 2012, and the view of Kenwright online is fairly singular.

I think that perspective holds significantly more weight with the fanbase as a whole than it did back then.

I'm not going to give anyone stick for supporting Kenwright back in the day. Yes, he fooled a massive chuck of our fanbase into letting him get away with murder and those fans have to live with that but I'm not going to kick them while they're down. I refuse to let this skidmark of a man divide the fanbase anymore then he already has. As far as I'm concerned the past doesn't matter on this. Its the present that counts so If you're standing with us now against Kenwright and the rest of the vandals on the board then that's all that matters.

Yes. We can only affect the future by acting in the present. The past is irrelevant.

Just thrown up in my mouth watching that. Look at the kin state of some of those fans, standing up giving him a big slow clap ffs, embarrassing.

I think I've been very clear in my views regarding Bill Kenwright and Denise Barrett Baxendale.

The sooner they are gone. The better.

I doubt it would be any different today if we were the best of the rest. In fact, I'll go out on a limb and say if we were 8th with the new stadium being built, he'd be getting his name sung.

Fans are fickle and he's only getting called out on his obvious lies now because they've backfired and we're on the brink.

I think it wasn't "went along with it"

More "were fooled by it"

Many were. I was.
loads where ,at the time we were having our first decent season in god knows how long was in europe so people didn’t want to know how bad the club was off the pitch , plus it’s not like our local paper was reporting it so people where kidded into thinking moyes done a good job with kenwright when it was dispite of kenwright

Well I think that's fair enough, isn't it?

If we'd won the league under his chairmanship, then there'd be statues of the man.

But really the counterfactual is irrelevant: we're where we are. He's failed.

Yeah, but 8th isn't 1st. Most of our fans would be happy with 8th and no trophies for the next 100 years.
