Two things strike me seeing that again.

Despite what Baz Horne is saying, there were a hell of a lot more people NOT clapping than clapping.

Also I'd never noticed before that Jenny whispered into his ear that he was on the big screen and was the cheerleader for the clapping herself. You really can't trust her not to get up to mischief just like she still does on here.
at first ther was something else on the screen that was getting clapped then it cut to him and it got worse i was shocked that day cos i always thought most evertonians where on the same page it was also the first time i’d encountered the happy clapper creature

Hopefully a different era now, the power of social media and podcasting has left bills tactics looking dated and frankly embarrassing. Coupled with the reality we are in far worse trouble than 2012 after a decade of Moyes steady hand at the wheel.

To be fair social media and podcasting was there back then. It’s how the Blue Union raised awareness, forums were still going strong back then.

It’s not that people disagreed with them, it’s the way they went about it. Their critics talked about being underhanded for posting a interview or the way they come across but I thought the protesters critics were worse, dismissive arrogance and highly condescending at every opportunity. I still see it to this day.

I stopped going because I knew this would go on and on for years and thought voting with the wallet was the only way to show the point of view. Even when Moshiri came in I was wary because it wasn’t the reboot that was needed.

Still makes me annoyed every time I see that clip

It makes my skin crawl.

It was still in its infancy as a media force though and has shifted a lot in the past decade, it has passed bill and his tactics by.

I do remember that taping of the interview being released now you mention it, there was a backlash against it and I'm not sure the blue union knew how to handle it.

The evidence against kenwrights career at everton is staggering, there can be no doubt he has had and continues to have a severe negative impact. His Moyes shaped shield has gone, he doesn't understand the new form of media and the fans are rightly terrified of relegation and financial obliteration. He has to be done now and its important for us to strike the balance between being vocal about kenwright and supporting the team. I think the fans have struct that balance brilliantly so far.

Some of the things Chairman Bill said in his Blue Union interview. Lies, lies, lies.

On Philip Green:
"He's not interested. He would say to me [adopts a mockney accent]: 'Bill, Bill, Bill, if I put facking money into Everton Football Club you think Liverpool fans would buy from Topshop?' He's not interested. He's a total genius when it comes to money, he's like Mozart is to music. He's an adviser."

On why he hadn't sold up:
"There has to be a reason nobody is buying Everton; there is a reason, there's no money in the world, there's no point in me being replaced, we need someone with money."

On his own future:
“I’m always optimistic, because I’m an optimist... my doctor won’t let me be in charge in five years. I’ll be 70 and I don’t want to be there.”

Yeah, but 8th isn't 1st. Most of our fans would be happy with 8th and no trophies for the next 100 years.
Thing is if we were 7th/8th and in touch with those above us (ie if things had carried on as they were under Moyes), then the stadium being built would give us a platform to push on and genuinely compete…

For that to all be true it would mean that he’d found a semi-competent buyer.

Wouldn’t have an issue with him getting some praise in that hypothetical situation
