I still absolutely love Moyesey. He achieved wonders on a shoestring budget. However, in hindsight it may have been better if he hadn't. His relative level of success , actually managed to cover up what an incompetent buffoon Kenwright actually was. Davie actually probably prolonged the shelf life of our illustrious leader !.

If you even argue the fact Bill ran this club to near ruin people will always say, you had relative success finishing inside the top six for many years and enjoyed European nights, I will always attribute that to David Moyes himself he was the reason for those successes not Bill, the other point you make is true it just covered up the cracks within the football club, but we have had 'good times' isn't that right we should be grateful for this and not want a better Everton especially one that should live by it's motto, our motto should always be our standard.

had it not been for Moyes, Kenwright would have driven this club to the ground by 2005.

Absolutely, made a few bad deals and had to sell Rooney because of this, also didn't accept any form of investment so he could still have full control but preached that he was looking 24/7 and would walk away if he ever found it.

It was Rooney that did it for me.
We were a huge club with a big fan base, yea the 90's were rocky but if ever a chance presented it's self to turn the club around it was that 16 year old die hard toffee super star.
Anyone with any business acumen would have used Rooney to drive investment and turn the club around. Or at least try.
Kenwright tried to drive a bidding war to get as much for him as possible. It was the only way for him to keep control of the club and he knew it.
The moment Rooney walked out the door, we resigned ourselves to also rans.
(I know the next season we finished fourth but thats on Moyes, a freak low points season, and luck, not Kenwright)

Today is my birthday. I wish it was tomorrow as, if the news is to be believed, it would be the best birthday present ever.

Then again, maybe it's just as well it's not because I still don't believe he'll go...
You won't know what to wish for next year!
