like others, i think this all to do with his ego.

i just can't see him resigning until we move into BM.

i think he sees that as his legacy.
anyone investing in the club is going to see the unrest he brings with him and want him out.
How does he step foot in goodison again in an official capacity after hiding for half of last season?
Are our fans suddenly not dangerous monsters?

Terrible question but what came first, Rooney or Kings Dock? Started supporting around this time and it kind of blurs together.
Yea, Kings dock died 2003.
The whole project ran 2000-2003.
I think EFC needed to raise 30m for their share. Paul Gregg offered the money in exchange for a stake (maybe controlling, cant remember)
Kenwright refused, couldn't find the money and the proposal died.
the following summer Rooney (as he puts it) was forced out of Everton at a knockdown price as Kenwright couldn't ignite a bidding war between United and Chelsea. He'd just had a great euros.

Wonder if he's going to be chased out all Peter Johnson style

Weren't we going to build an ikea type stadium in kirby at one point though

Got very lucky that Moyes was absolutely brilliant delivering European football in multiple years on a sell to buy budget.

As soon as Moyes went it just completely unravelled to today’s precarious position. Any other manager and we would ahead gone down under Kenwright early doors and potentially liquidated the club. Transfer windows when we sold Saha Yakubu Arteta and gave Moyes Stracq and Drenthe on loan. Within 18 months we were back at an FA Cup semi final and in the top 8 again.

Whatever achievement Kenwright may claim is solely down to David Moyes being brilliant nothing else.

Hypothetically would you have been ok with selling Rooney if it meant Kings Dock went through?

Build one of these at BMD for Bill for old time sake lol - & keep him in it ......

That's a tough one.
Under Kenwright, we just would have ended up like Southampton with Matt Letissier if we kept Rooney and he continued to shun any investment that meant relinquishing any control.
It would have made the Rooney sale a lot more palatable.
There's no right answer for me.
Kenwright sells Rooney and pays for EFCs stake in Kings Dock and we'd still end up cash strapped in a shiny new ground.
Kenwright keeps Rooney and we end up cash strapped in Goodison.
I think I'd keep him.
