Yea, Kings dock died 2003.
The whole project ran 2000-2003.
I think EFC needed to raise 30m for their share. Paul Gregg offered the money in exchange for a stake (maybe controlling, cant remember)
Kenwright refused, couldn't find the money and the proposal died.
the following summer Rooney (as he puts it) was forced out of Everton at a knockdown price as Kenwright couldn't ignite a bidding war between United and Chelsea. He'd just had a great euros.

Because they needed to at least appear to still have someone running the organisation or would be in breach of a lot more rules than just football ones. He will be involved in the short term interims and negotiating his large settlement which probably takes about 48 hours would be my guess. Should be gone by tomorrow night i reckon.

Met Robert Earl here in Boston, he'd come to watch a game.
I remember Lukaku scored and I jumped up and screamed "that's what 28 million buys ya".
He turned around and said "we didn't pay anything like that for him".
I reckon the regular football joe (even the likes of Esk) have no idea of football finances and the crazy deals they work out.
But yea, Earl and Kenwright loved the status but couldn't back it up.
And when the cash finally came, Kenwright had no idea how to control it.

This idiots ego has always held Everton back , in my opinion.
Even once he had released his vice like grip , and allowed new investment from Moshiri / Usmanov , he was still complicit in wasting the new funds.
He has wasted a once in a lifetime funding opportunity.
