Bill Kenwright

I see people are still playing the “Bill vs Moshiri PICK A SIDE” game. They’re both on the same side. Both different cheeks of the same arse. Both as culpable as one another in different ways for where we find ourselves. Both should’ve been chased out of the club years and years ago.

Used to drive me mad seeing people froth at the mouth over Kenwright and ignoring the Moshiri elephant in the room. Utter fools.

Without doubt. But like I said, it’s disproportionate. Bill’s dead and there’s been horrible, horrible posts about him since that happened. Everton were a top 8 side until Moshiri arrived.
What does the fact that he's dead do to excuse the fact he was a horrific chairman who oversaw a financial situation that has led to us being docked 10 points?

All these horrible, horrible posts were earned by the horrible, horrible job the man did as Chairman.

A banal, tasteless and totally ignorant comment.
Please start acting like an Evertonian.
It's 100% accurate. If you took your head out of his hoop and paid attention then you'd agree.

It's Evertonians who buried their head in the sand for the last two decades that allowed Kenwright and Moshiri to get away with this.

Clap him all you want, this is Kenwright's legacy.

Spot on.

Well said, but I think we are wasting our breath, his head is jammed up his hoop. I suggest a good helping of wd40 may help.

I know how businesses work, and I know where the decision-making is made.
Clearly, you don't.
MOSHIRI.

The person with the money has control. No one else.

The board is toothless when you have someone who controls 94% of the club.
Irrelevant.

The board is tasked to run the business. Do you think Moshiri (or Usmanov if you like) was filing in and submitting paperwork for all our deals with the Premier League?

Moshiri wasn't a board member until everyone else jumped ship. He had zero legal control of what went on. Did he put deals forward? Of course he did.

The point is, the board could have pushed back. They would have seen where this is heading. They didn't, they just stayed on the gravy train and bowed their heads and did what the big man asked them to. They failed in their legal responsibility to protect the business.

They could have resigned their positions, they didn't. It's on them. All of it.

The reason Everton are where we are today is 100% on that useless, disgusting, vain old queen. His weak board appointments have led us to where we are today. Board appointments of allies he knew would never challenge him. He tried one early on with Trevor Birch and didn't like the advice he gave so that was short lived.

His refusal to sell to anybody unwilling to keep him front and centre eventually allowed Moshiri in the door.

I've said it many times, he's the worst thing that's ever happened to this club and I include Houlding in that conversation.

I hope they drop his coffin.

One thing specifically related to Kenwright's involvement in this mess I haven't seen talked about is the fact that this case has mostly been built on a line written in the loan agreement between the club and Kenwright's dodgy lender mates Rights and Media Funding Ltd.

By an
amended and restated agreement originally dated 29 April 2021 Rights &
Media Funding Ltd agreed to lend Everton the sum of £150 million. Clause
3.1 of that agreement provided –
The Borrower shall apply all amounts borrowed by it…towards its working capital
purposes.
According to Everton’s accounts to 30 June 2022 the sums borrowed under
this agreement totalled £150 million as at that date.

Most of this case is based upon us trying to claim the interest payments from this dodgy payday loan as "Stadium Related".

Perhaps if Kenwright was no longer involved we wouldn't have been getting into bed with his loan shark mates and would have focused more on finding a sustainable long-term lender.

32. In February 2022 Everton decided to pass on the interest charges payable
under the Rights & Media Funding Ltd and Metro Bank PLC loans by levying
interest on the inter-company loan to Everton Stadium Development Ltd.
The intention was that that interest would be calculated retrospectively from
FY 2018 and all charged in the FY 2022 accounts
