Would you be happy with this signing?

I can’t claim to have watched Garner much, but are the two similar types of player? If so, would be a weird signing

Similar in the sense that they are both progressive midfielders that sit deepish mate, Gilmour is probably better technically and with passing, controlling the tempo of the game, holding possession and progressing through lines, and in game intelligence, though Garner isn’t remedial in those areas but he can drift and wouldn’t be as good in the areas I mention, Garner has a set piece on him and is more likely to score and assist then Gilmour, well based on what I saw at Forrest and that level anyway.

If he had an exotic name people would be in favour, its that dull English name thing again, like how people didnt like Micheal Keane but did like Yerry Mina

Brighton aren't going to sell him 10 games after signing him.
Sarmiento and Enciso have looked better than him so far though as backup to MacAllister, Gross and Caiceido.

Was a little bit taller mate. Jack Wiltshire and Steve Pienaar are closer. ;)

...Billy Bremner was .5 meters shorter than Gilmour.
...yeah but him and his other vertically challenged mate Giles were total gobshoites, I mean you need some snide but they gave it a bad name...(leeds, dirty, dirty leeds)

It's not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog

I fear we've become toxic in recent years. In the Moyes/Martinez era, young players would come to us because we'd improve their careers. Now we're a graveyard for young talent and the only players we can attract are those willing to take the hefty payday we offer out of desperation. We need to stop throwing money about and get back to basics. Start getting a tune out of the players we have and we'll start attracting decent prospects again.
