Didn't you use to be a teacher? This is akin to American's using the 1st amendment to defend their right to free speech as a way of excusing themselves for saying whatever they like without consequence. If you are speaking in a public forum it is on you to ensure to the best of your ability that what you say can be understood correctly, unless you are deliberately trying to consufe or mislead someone. They are your words, take responsibility for them and the meaning they have to the general public.
That is fair enough, but you should know better, especially from the environments that you have worked in, that you cannot always do that without causing some people to become insulted/confrontational.
"I can't be racist, I have black friends...". But also, after that you should know better than what you've stated above.
The amount you go on about it suggests otherwise! I don't think anyone else cares that much or is even watching/listening to the stuff.
