Black History Month

Announce - black history month - fair enough.

Both articles in the thread immediately refer to the history of just black women. Ignoring the other half of the population. That's sexism. I just say what I see.
Chris, world renowned expert on the history of Black History month.

I do believe there is often a thematic focus and this year is on black women.

Fair enough. Would you list what the past themes have been, by year?
Yes mate:

For a man who likes to purport to liking to use reason, evidence and avoiding ignorance your headlong dive into this topic absolutely reeks of them!

We expect better Chris.

I'm trying to avoid ignorance by asking questions. Thanks for the list.

Evidence from the list suggests this sexist and divisive focus on only half of a population has been done before, in 1996 and 2012. There has been no commensurate focus solely on black males.

Also... its clear that this is an American (well technically US as that is only one minor part of two American continents) thing. There are black people in other parts of the world, including Britain and it seems they are being overlooked by the people who focus on this month.

So why will the bbc obsess ... on US cultural issues again (as they do each year)?

It's well established in the UK my friend.

Very well established. Runs every October. https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/49883230

According to the bbc ... but my point is and not that km against it ... why? Its US culture - they're the nation who carried on slavery long after the civilised world ended it, they're the ones who stopped people sitting near whites on buses. Why do we get hammered with it for a month hearingvabout the bad things THEY did as if WE should feel bad about it.

This is the thing though, isn't it, the BBC is there to MAKE people feel bad. It's like the way very poor teachers control a class - make them feel guilty and repress them. It's social control.
