But we don't?

Granted there is recognition the US perspective is quite a loud one, but it's not something passively accepted by those in the UK.

You may be right. But have you actually listened to radio 4 or 4 extra? Despite our rich literary history, fir example, practically every other story, play, drama or documentary seems to focus US culture. (The other half seems to me to be women having a chat about women). Maybe it's cheaper that way, maybe it just saves them having to talk about problems in the uk. I dunno.

Why are you obsessed with radio 4?

Never seen it mentioned so much by one person.

You don’t. It’s not compulsory.
I don't listen to music on the radio, I don't entertain any channels with advertising. This leaves me with a choice of 8 hours of women's hour that is what Radio 4 seems to have become while I'm working in the shed or 8 hours of Radio 4 extra - which is a little more varied and interested. However I've been reminded of last year now when it became wall to wall black history programmes - about the US. My other alternative is just silence - which is a bit boring.

Radio 4 is for nutters, folk who want to make themselves angry, and the woke.

Would be seen dead listening to it.

Radio 4 extra is Radio 4 without any current affairs. Mostly comedy, serials and plays from the 50’s to the 70’s. I’m sure you would enjoy it.

I do.

But the constant apologies insisted on by the super sensitive, right on and better than us programme directors before any programme made (the record is now) before 2009 because they may cause offence really wind me up!

Today they had a cracking play around the history of a scientist LaVoisier, in the midst of the French revolution.

Why do you listen to something that winds you up so much.

There’s so many other talk radio stations out there. Or just put a podcast on.

Strange behaviour.
Tbf he did say he won’t listen to constant adverts that plague talk shows on independent radio and even more awful, Jim White and Simon Jordan

Did you actually read the reasoning I pointed to? 🤔 Because you asked and I gave it ... right there ... the post above where I said ... "see above"!

They aren’t “constant” are they? They are not even before every programme. Last week there was a serial based on The Monmouth rebellion. Blood and guts repeated three times a day for five days. No warnings.
