I think they're struggling for goals. 0-0 written all over it.

What gets me about today is that we played with two destroyers and yet Blackburn still took us apart. We seemed really naive. We went forward without threatening and left ourselves wide open. Who does that? Judging by the highlights, Distin could have given another couple of penalties away himself.

I watched the game and that's harsh on Distin. He was okay to be honest.

But yeah. Two defensive mids against a team as bad as them is ridiculous. And when he brought Cahill on we only had 3 creative players in the entire team; Arteta, Osman and Baines. Plus we played with one isolated striker, and instead of using the one player who can play in that system (Yak) we play the poor man's Heskey.

Negative, drab and dour. Moyes' M.O.

your right billy ,i thought distin was r best defender thou mate

At this point I think we could afford to sack him.

As I've said before he's a tactically gash manager. His strength is spotting bargains and turning coal into diamond. However with absolutely no money at all this strength is useless. All we have now is him trying to make the most of our existing squad.

And he just can't. He does the same things over and over and over again. At this point, from a tactical perspective, almost any manager could do better. I honestly believe that.

The only thing I would worry about is what David Moyes leaving might do to our dressing room. I'd worry some players might want to leave as well, because he has become part of the club, and not just its manager. And deservedly so, to be fair. This is why his tactical stagnation and growing unlikeability is so frustrating to me -- because I loved the man. He's done so much for us and given us so many great memories. But he's pissing all over it at the moment. He's wasting the talent he's procured and he's losing the respect he's gained.

Don't discount how much his will to win and the togetherness that he has fostered has got the best out of his team. Most of the time it's not pretty, but he gets the job done. In any case, if we can't afford a loan or bosman, we can't afford to settle Moyes's contract and pay compensation for an in-demand manager. Sit tight.

Best of a bad bunch maybe.

Yes. Exactly. Highlighting him for critique when Captain Fantastic was quiet as a mouse and Jagielka, for the third game running, was shocking and gave away a pen... well it's unfair on Sylvain.

Baines was ace though, but as I said to foxy he's hardly a defender anymore. More a winger!

Just before Goodwillie hit the bar Distin took someone out who had sneaked in behind him. Then he went flying in at chest height on the left hand side of the box and missed the ball. Both could have been pens easily.

When I suggested that we played with two anchors the idea was that they sit tight and allow the fullbacks to bomb on. Instead, Fellaini and Heitinga both got forward and Baines was limited to a handful of forward raids. Anichebe and Osman are support players. Their goalscoring records are amongst the lowest of all our attacking players. Having them as our furthest forward players is ludicrous.

I really don't like winning like this. i really feel sorry for Blackburn and thier fans, Granted you deserve to lose when you have two penelty, but Alas, We were really really crap and I really feel crap for winning like this.

You lot are heartless!

I was just saying about those two incidents, not commenting on Distin's performance generally. If the second pen had gone in that would have been three goals in three games that Jags was directly at fault for. The situation needs looking at.

If you read my match ratings earlier you'd see I said Distin wasn't faultless at all and made some mistakes. But he was better than Neville and Jags, the latter by some distance, and so I repeat; highlighting him out for criticism is very harsh.

And yes, ludicrous. But I say that about Moyes' decisions 10x more than I say "sensible" or "good" these days.

What are you going on about? Distin could have been MoM otherwise but I saw two incidents involving him that could easily have been penalties. Just saying like...

It would make more sense to have Yak, Fellaini, Cahill, a half-fit Saha or even an untested Vellios upfront. Vic has had enough opportunities for us to now realise that he's not a natural goalscorer. If he's there to be a Marcus Bent-type runner, then it's a backwards step.
