Because their objective has never been clear?
Ok I might be slightly naïve about this, but are they not all Evertonian's like us, what intention's could they possibly have apart from highlighting this board's failing's. Is it the people involved in running the BU that seem to be the problem. I genuinely can't understand what the issue is with supporters that have a gripe with them.

Mate don't look to deep into it. The highlighted bit is the answer in a nutshell. People just don't like the boat being rocked. Really its that simple.

We have a generation of 20-25 year olds who have never seen us win anything and whose perception of the club - influenced by a biased and disinterested media obsessed with wealth & current standing - is that we're on a par with West Ham and Stoke.

This acceptance of mediocrity (because they don't know any better) has led to apathy, and a resistantance to change.

What purpose would a massive hotel in Walton serve on non-matchdays?

I can't see Kopites wanting to stay there every other week and Walton is not on the tourist checklist very often.

Blues stay there one week leading to a match.

Reds stay there next week leading to a match.

There's gonna be an extra 15000 mostly out of town reds in a few years time looking for somewhere to stay.

Conference & corporate hospitality facilities - would mean we wouldn't have to bus people back and forth to the L1 Hilton like we currently do because we have no room at the club to meet demand.

Anfield area is getting regenerated, why can't Walton be too?

That's 2 days a fortnight accounted for. What about the other 12 days?

Weddings, birthdays and conference facilities maybe, but I can't see it being financially viable.

Mate, it's a non starter.

C&E. The room is there - of course it is, massive venue. Delegates won't use it because it's not central.

Hospitality. Hilton isn't used because there's no space. If that was true, bring back the tent the club removed to make space for the annexe...

If I was from miles away and came to see Everton then I would rather sleep on the street than in the LFC Anfield Hotel. I'm sure many of their lot would feel the same way.

And that's a big build for a few more hospitality suites.

I'm not against the idea but I don't think anything with such a big hospitality development attached to it is viable.

I have nothing against Walton as a place and I enjoy going down there for a drink of a matchday, but there is nout there to fill the sort of hotel that would be required to make this work.

I'd love it to happen like but even with a more progressive board I think this is far fetched.

Retail might be more suitable but the boat may well have been missed.

European games. Everyday tourism. When people go to London for a few days, they don't always stay in the centre of London. Lots stay in hotels on the outskirts. Goodison is 5-10 mins from the city centre.

Who would want to shop at a decrepit old dock? (Albert Dock, 1982)

Who wants to have a meal at a footy match? (Early 1990s)

One tier on the Park End will suffice (1993)

You need to have a vision and a will to make something a success.

Why can Norwich City make something like this work and we can't?

People acting like Walton is some sort of slum. Have you seen where some of the successful Travelodges are based on the outskirts of London?

Hilton is used because there's no space at Goodison. Corporate hospitality sold out for every game at Goodison last season and there's now a waiting list to join. The demand is there. You say it's a non-starter... Times are changing with the regenerated Anfield. A club with vision would take advantage of things and push forwards.

And there's no room for the marquee because the very successful (and heavily filled & busy) Fan Zone is there now.

Carrow Road is nearer to the city centre. It isn't anything to do with the size of the club. It's about the demand for a hotel.

London and Liverpool aren't really comparable. London is home to seven million people and is a European tourism powerhouse.

Norwich City have had a successful hotel at Carrow Road for the last 7 years. It opened as part of their redeveloped Jarrold Stand.

There's a lot more to do in Liverpool than there is Norwich. There's clearly a demand for hotels. A hotel attached to a historic Premier League football clubs' magnificent redeveloped stadium would be a draw. There's at least one major match, often 2, played in the area for 38 weeks of the year, and that's before business conferences and basic tourism for the city is factored in.

You need to have a vision. It's the whole point behind regeneration projects - taking an area and transforming it.

I don't want to knock any Blue but The Riverside in Norwich is in a fairly prime spot so a hotel was always viable. Plus that scheme was financed off more than the hotel - with the Morrisons supermarket and retail park as well.

I think the Blue Union should stick to pressuring the board but not pretend to be would-be property developers.

Architects don't lead projects - cash does.

You can readily buy hospitality at Everton for every game.

Player of the month lunches. Why did the club move them from Goodison to the Hilton?...

Location.

Also - your comparison to Norwich is way off. I've worked with the events team at Norwich, world apart. They piss all over Everton's C&E offering. They have an on site restaurant, open every evening. It works. Why? Location.
