To pinch an idea from the Kirkby stadium idea, why not build a retail area in and around Goodison as part of a suggested upgrade? Agree about hospitality not being a goer but retail?

Just read some of this thread and @BoysInBlue has been spot on, along with others.

If this is seen as a viable option and is presented to the club, with all the pressure on the board (and the echo) lately, we could see updates on GP. I say updates because who knows what could the board could come out with. I'm just positive that something soon is going to come from the board, I'm just not sure whether that would be good or bad news.

I'm all for these plans, hotel or not. We're Everton and need to show ambition, on and off the pitch.

seems to be quite a lot of questions being asked of whether or not a hotel in L4 is a viable option (I think not, for what it's worth) but it should be taken into account the overall picture of what's being mooted here is a redevelopment of goodison, isn't that what we need to discuss ?

Aye spot on. A first draft like.

I really don't want us to move from Goodison. If there is any chance we can stay then we should. St Domingo's boys should always play on Gwladys Street.

what about some sort of sports science department structure allied with the club ?

ok we don't necessarily have the footfall 24/7 to make a hotel work but what we do have is a premiership football team, with our john moores connection could we possibly source some academic funding?

again I'm thinking outside of a box

no go

Loads of shops on County Rd, huge Sainsburys nearby, too close to city centre, etc etc.

FFS I'll just go back to ragging on the BU.
There is little potential for much given the currant social landscape and proximity to city centre of the area.
A similar scheme to what the spawn have is, in reality, the only viable answer to developing Goodison. (Imo)

Destroying local communities and creating ghost towns is not something I would wish the club to be associated with however.

this is why I think a sports science department allied to one of the big uni's could be a goer

they're well funded, growing all the time and always looking for areas of the city into which they can viably expand, sports science and associated developments are the new niche

get the fkn students down here studying how a high profile football club works from top to bottom, fkn £9000 per academic year they're paying now, give them something tangible for their money, get them down here experimenting on Kone

we'll soon be top of the tree again
