Apart from the pushing of walls, slabbing of barmen, stealing tickets off their own, condoning of racists and other such guff, then yeah mate we are pretty much the same. The Everton Only forum is a bit rawkish during the transfer window, but I'm putting that down to wools.

Kopites are fine, some of the nicest Germans I've met........my brother is a Kopite, but never kicked a football in his life, he just did the glory hunting bit when they were good, I still don't like him though........just kidding.......

They do attract some unpleasant elements........

I think our new found wealth, possible waterfront ground and any future success on the pitch as a result (especially trophies) will bring out the kopite in the average blue and there's little we can do about it. I do, however, think we'll stop short of killing people, making light of disasters and robbing our own fans of their tickets, regardless of the significance of the fixture.

It'd be interesting to hear what our resident fans of other clubs have to say on the matter.

Sorry, I can't go for any of that.

The sense of self-entitlement and greed seems soley their affliction - well perhaps Arsenal fans as well (despite "only" winning the FA Cup twice on the bounce).

Even when successful in the past, were EFC ever obnoxious and dictatorial in our celebration of it?
As opposed to "De werld's best supporters lar?" Have we ever brained innocent waiters with chunks of paving slab in "celebration?" Or were we in bed at the time?

Despite the media fixation and infestation of mouthpiece rats like Danny Murphy, the majority of other supporters of other clubs absolutely detest LFC. Everton is held in relatively high regard. We have a fairly realistic fanbase and are definitely a club that still holds a helluva lot of respect.

How much difference is there really between the two sets of fans?

I know it's an age of acute Internet and media partisanship but when you study the behaviours we label of theirs and criticise them for, you see that there's more than a minority of ours with the same behaviours or approach.

Poll included.

Blue - Red; how much different do you want.

Back in the day; before they properly became the rs

We'd win a Derby, cue giving them severe stick on Monday. Done for the week

They win one, and they were still blatting on about come next Friday

Old saying; You can always tell a kopite...but not much.

You only have to watch the reaction by both sets of fans in the pub when an opposing team scores against us/them.
R/S go absolutely mental, whilst us blues smile with total irony.

The thing about them is they forget/ignore the fact that without us there would be no them. When they go on about 5 European cups etc they fail to recognise they only exist because of a rent dispute 100+ years ago. Hysel took away our best shot at a European cup and no club probably suffered as much as we did on the back of the ban. You can't change history and history shows they are the [Poor language removed] sons of Everton football club. I for one look forward to the day when efc is restored to its rightful place at the top of the tree in Liverpool
