Iguazu Falls, Argentinian side.

This is the caterpillar of the Grey Dagger moth (Acronicta psi). The 'daggers' get their English names from the black dagger-like markings on the forewings. The colourful larva seen here is marked with red and yellow and has a tall 'hump' on the back, close to the head. This is to warn predators, not humans!

Wow obc - amazing place there!

Yeah, it truly is. The waterfalls are basically 1.7+ km of cascading falls. Didn't even get to see "biggest", Gargantua del Diablo... flooding earlier in the year demolished the rail to it from the Argie side. Couldn't get there from the Brazilian side as, well, we lacked proper documentation. Finally recent rains had the river so high (one of the two boat piers was flooded out at the time I was there), couldn't get close by boat.

Iguazu was on par with the Grand Canyon.

Go to bed, or wake up to a spider. Taken at around 11pm on Wednesday night, this is a female orb spider/cross spider - Araneus diadematus. These spiders can range from dark brown to almost yellow. This one was orange - helping her to blend in no doubt with the plant leaves and the maybe even nearby house bricks...
