Perseid Meteor Shower... NOT!!!

I tried vainly in the garden but light pollution and the fact that by pure chance I managed to capture the movement of just one meteor, and just the constellation of Orion, meant that astro-photography remains way too far outside of my comfort zone!

Big ants are starting to appear...

First one I have seen this summer, so maybe the flying ant day is approaching...

Wife spotted this tonight but it flew off as we were trying to set up for the shot. Luckily, it flew to the bay laurel where eventually I found it again. On my own now (*tea was cooking) it meant that to get a shot, I had to snap the leaf off and then hold it in front of the camera and lens, and hope I could keep the leaf steady enough.

I think I managed it...
