The Mayfly - and the briefest of encounters...
The eggs of mayflies are laid underwater, and the nymphs which hatch from the eggs can live for two years in the water.
Then come the summer, the adults hatch out - sometimes simultaneously and they can appear in their hundreds. Sadly, they have very short lifespan (just hours in some cases), during which they display and breed.
Many of them don't feed as adults as their sole purpose is to reproduce, dying once they have mated.

I went to Cleveland a few years ago, I wish I’d known about that. I like a good cemetery, I made my wife go round a “colonial “ one in Macao.

If you appreciate well curated cemeteries you'd definitely had a positive experience. It also has the President Garfield memorial and it's an impressively ornate construction.

I took myself off to the Helena Confederate cemetery on another holiday , I think it’s fascinating.

There's a good one in Nice, in the south of France. Up on the big hill inbetween the old town and the harbour, seems to be lots of people there who were important/rich or semi famous in the area/France, and looks out over the sea.
