Was just there; Colorado...bought my retirement homes, need some TLC. No probs, I like carpentry.
(j/k old mining town...old for the States anyhow).
This is...was a bit nippy (11.3k feet up, I believe). The road in to this place starts off sketchy AF, about a 5k climb with no guard rails on the drop side for about the first 500 ft until you turn and actually climb in to the mountain range itself. I wanted to take a pic of the dropoff, from my seat, when we were heading back down but it was on her side on the way up and she damn near tore the "oh shiz" grab handle off the a-pillar heading up so stopping would've fully ruined the day for her (and thus, me).
Can't lie, I puckered a little too when we ran in to the first Jeep on its way down (one lane). She had to watch the tires on the drop side when that happened and was already freaking out...think it would have been easier to convince her to give birth to a baby orca, TBH.

Damsel fly resting this morning in a glade on the Wiltshire / Somerset border. There seemed to be hundreds of them out and about.

On showing the previous pic to Mrs Whittle on my return, she produced this beauty taken in our garden some years ago.
Found my first Bdellidae of the year - but unsure of the sp. and also a green thing which may or not have emerged from the black hole in space - as well as tiny oribatid mite (not my best shot though) and a very small vapourer moth caterpillar.

And from spittlebug to froghopper...
Got both in the garden today - the spittlebugs are plentiful, but I also found the adult (albeit a small one) as well.
