Boss photos you've taken

My intended subject (Nuctenea umbratica) unfortunately fell from the fence panel to the ground...

I searched in vain to find it, then spotted a pale spiderling in the moss, so grabbed as good a photo as I could on such a small subject.

Imagine my surprise when opened in Lightroom to find not one, but 2 spiders... Plus on the fence was a small mouse spider Scotophaeus blackwalli.

The two tiny spiders are Philodromus sp. (Running spider) and a juvenile Steatoda nobilis.

OK, take a look at your keyboard - the one on your desk...

See the "del" key on the numeric pad, and on that key is the dot or full stop?

Got that in your mind?

OK.

This globular springtail is smaller than that dot. These 2 were taken on the LAOWA 60mm 2:1 lens at close to full magnification, and then the images were cropped in post processing. The first one is not bang on the money, but close enough considering the size of the insect and given that it's after 11pm at night and very dark and it's always moving! The 2nd one is better, as it changed direction and is coming towards the camera and I just about got the eyes in focus.

I'm fairly sure this is Bourletiellidae sp. - a common springtail that can grow quite a bit bigger (maybe 5mm in size) so this suggests that mine here is very young.

@Bilbo
Great, as ever.
I'm amazed that you can even spot these things, never mind photograph them. ?‍♂️

Ta Kev.

Truth it - it's VERY hard to photograph them - I have more deleted files than soft mick, but I persevere until I get as good as I can. At 61, leaning over a recycling bin, in the drizzle (yes it was raining though only misty moisture rather than raindrops) in the dark and cold, is going over the line of common sense - but hey - it's what I like to do. Call me a nutter, and you wouldn't be far of lol... ;)

Visited the Dune of Pilat (France) the other day. Picture does not do it justice really. Bizarre place as the dune appears to spring up out of nowhere, sandwiched between a very dense forest and the sea. It is massive being 100m high, 500m wide and about 2.5 km long
