Oak Eggar moth it seems. Although this was bigger than wiki reckons, they say wingspan up to 7.5cm, this was about 12cm

Hairy little caterpillar, needs to get himself a haircut. It is yawning, or at least exercising it jaws here - caught at the moment where the mouth was at it's widest. I have touched up a couple of hot spots from the flash though
