When at University in Brighton my staple food was the baked potato with baked beans and cottage cheese from the 'Spudulike' - never seen one since mind.... still occasionally have the above for dinner at home much to my teenage kids disgust.

There was one in the Trafford centre food court. No idea if it’s still there like, not been for a couple of years.

Edit:
Apparently it’s still there

Can we class W H Smith's as no longer there. Used to very good, now it's either : try and navigate the crap on the floor, quickly move through the terrible claustrophobic layout, or decline the offer of a two quid, out of date Galaxy bar.

With Pete Burns slumped in the corner taking the piss out of everyone’s music taste.

It could be quite brutal buying a record in there.

I remember buying U2’s Boy album in there and him bursting out laughing in front of a packed shop and me shuffling out, with my head hung in shame.

The irony was that he later hooked up with Stock, Aiken and Waterman lol

Owen Owen.

It was the George Henry Lee for people who didn`t have the money to shop in George Henry Lee.

They had some good gear in the menswear dept, Lacoste, Ralph Lauren etc.

TJ Hughes for all the Nana`s of Liverpool
That reminds me of the time that I arranged to meet my now wife outside the entrance of Lewis and , having only moved up to Liverpool 6 months earlier mistakenly stood outside GH Lee!

All pre mobile phone days.

When I realized my mistake and wandered over half an hour late she was going off her head and I calmly said well I was waiting at the other entrance on Hardman St.

Not much she could say as she never stipulated the main entrance and we always used to go in via the Hardman St one to see her sister who worked in the food and toy Dept!
