Boxing

what you boys think of Crawford v Burns?

I like Ricky Burns, but right now he is possibly the luckiest boxer to be still world champion.

He was getting well beat by Gonzalez before he quit on his stool, still think there was something not right with that. His last fight against Beltran saw one of the worst decisions i'v ever seen in the sport, although Burns done well to fight with a broken jaw the fight wasn't even close felt so sorry for Beltran, hope he gets his deserved world title when he fights on the Pacquiao Bradley card in April.

I think Crawford beats him on points.

Fair dues to Curtis Woodhouse for winning the british title tonight, smart move getting Rhodes and Booth in his corner for it.

Only just watched the Coyle fight, super fight only soured for me by a premature stoppage, there is no way Brizuela should not have been allowed to continue given what both guys had put into the fight,it was clear his senses were still there, fair play to Coyle on the win like.

Travelling fighters have it tough everywhere, Europe, America but I reckon Britain is the toughest of the lot for an away fighter.

It seems to be getting a little more controversial, but there are far far worse out there

Great white hope is a american term used almost soley in reference to american and british fighters with irish or italian ancestry mate, down to them being massive crowd pullers especially in the big commercial markets like NYC etc

Yea those Metric system using Eastern Europeans don't count.

Pacquio and bradley re match announced, has pacman slipped a little since then when he cerainly won that fight, you could argue Bradley has kicked on, also worth remember he fought most the fight with a broken ankle the tough SOB. After a governing body ordered a re match claiming inappropriote conduct from a ref, it would be nice to see the judges treated the same way, as it is weve had to wait for a rematch here and it may have come too late for pacman to set the record straight, all the same an interesting fight

Good for Bradley for getting the W against Marquez version 2.Roids. I really like the guy. Pac-man still has something in the tank and I don't see him beating Pacquio. Granted the decision was bogus, Bradley got Pac to fight his kind of fight (ugly) however Pac-man kept beating him to the punch and should have lost something around 8 rounds to 4. If he does that again he'll have to outwork Pac-man however throwing lots of punches isn't his style.

Here's 2013s fight of year. Bradley vs. Prodovikov (I liked Rios-Alvarado 2 a bit better though). Close brutal fight and thankfully was actually scored correctly.

Maybe its just that I get to see more of the British fights, certainly in recent memory the McCloskey Prescott, and Burns Beltran decisions have been two of the most terrible ones i'v seen.

theres been a few bad ones lately, but I remember watching the olympics in beijing, the decisions in britain were far from perfect but a vast improvement, like I said we are far from perfect here, but you'd never get a guy like sven ottke having a career in the UK like he did in germany
