Boxing

He's rubbed a lot of people up the wrong way the last few months with his mouth and his behaviour. Everyone who meets him says he's a lovely guy but hasn't come across that way at all, whenever he does interviews on Sky Sports he sounds like a nutter and a bully, someone you really can't be arsed with.

He went full-blown pyscho at that Steve Bunce on Talksport because the bloke wrote an article slagging off one of his performances. Imagine if a footballer did that, imagine if someone rang up Adrian Durham and offered him a straightener for criticising them (oh wait)?

He also offered some random lads a fight all because they do a boxing podcast and they named a joke award after him. He acts like a 10-year old.

Bellew has looked tired early whenever he's been taken pretty deep. At least with Cleverly he can go the distance and maintain some level of performance. I can't see Tony winning myself. I'd take Cleverly on a late KO.

I agree with this, i can see him running out of steam late on due to all the tension and pressure he is putting on himself.

All Psycho and offered him out? Must have been a different show then because he said he wasn't going to answer his questions. Bunce has had that coming for years.

He's a top lad and gets immersed in it all, he's nothing like his fight persona.

I don't mind bunce when he writes for boxing monthly, he always champions small shows and isn't at least a part time fan, like when you get football reporters throwing their two cents in whenever theres a big fight, but since he signed with boxnation he is very much a company man

He didn't offer Bunce out no, he just gave him a bit of a lashing that he did deserve, you're right. Just it didn't come across very well to the average joe.

I even thinks he comes across better on Talksport than he does on BoxNation. Sounds like they kind of sorted it in the break anyway.

I am not a boxing fan, but I enjoyed Bellew's interview on SSN earlier this morning....his dream is to fight at Goodison. I hope he wins on that account!!

Mind you, the footage by Sky was obviously from last season with the beehive version of the badge and, bizarrely, someone playing Flower of Scotland on bagpipes in the background???

I've never seen cleverly box clever, he is a fighter who has never made the most of attributes, and now he is being trained by a fitness coach, so I can't see him becoming a tactical mastermind all of a sudden, maybe he learn't his lesson after getting iced by kovalev, but if that was the case he would have hired a proper coach. Cleverly could well win the fight but if he does it's on workrate and being tough enough to take the other guys shots, the same way all his victories have come
it will be intresting to see how he handles that hiding Kovalev gave him, when he comes under pressure, he did himself no favours in that fight agaist a good boxer.
A lot of these fighters can go downhill after one like that, chad dawson for instance looked something special then Boom, its all gone downhill.
I honestly dont have a clue who will win on saturday, Cleverly has a high workrate and speed if it goes to points can see him nicking it,
Bellew can box better than he is given credit for and hits harder,if he is in for one of his good nights and dosnt let the pressure get to him, could end it with one explosive punch or flurry of them if cleverlys not what he was before his hiding.
I want Bellew to win so i might be letting that cloud my judgement, Bellew to Ko him mid rounds.

Been a bit bored by Bellew's antics this week so don't really give a toss if he wins or loses now.

Show dignity and respect at all times, especially to a man who has beaten you once already.

Looking forward to Smith, Joshua, Quigg, Groves and De Gale, should be a great night's entertainment.

he was hurt bad against kovalev, and he is quite easy to hit, so at some point we will find out first of all if that chin is still there, and second if bellew hits that much harder at cruiser. I watched bellew as an amateur and he was very heavy handed back then, I was genuinely surprised when he became a light heavyweight and he looked a different person, so it wouldn't surprise me if there is a significant diffrence. Bellew doesn't have that nice rhythm kovalev does, but as you say he can box, and despite all the talk of bellew being too hot headed, he is the one I have seen box to a game plan, whereas cleverly only knows one way, which is a shame because he could have been a much better fighter than he is. I'll be cheering bellew on, but I'm starting to feel skeptical as it draws closer, put it this way mate, I won't be betting on it though

getting that way myself. wish he didnt have the z cars and Everton thing going as it gets my nerves going, as soon as he is in the ring i will be frothing at the mouth, even my bird says the same, if it wasnt for that,
i could sit back and enjoy a good fight.
