Boxing

Germany has long been a disgrace for both referee's and judges, you get plenty of home town, home promoter decisions in the UK for sure, but there is not a chance in hell britain is worse than germany

When was the last time anyone got robbed in Germany? I mean properly robbed?

Groves got robbed against Froch the first time, Beltran got robbed against Burns, that Brian Rose bloke got beat the sh*t out of by a guy called Maciel in a final eliminator yet got given the decision and went onto to fight for the world title which he did not deserve.

The UK has the worst reputation in boxing right now when it comes to the "away fighter" getting the short end of the stick.

Bellew is a fighter with limited ability. The reason he gets the fights he does is because he is 'box office'. Those who support him will pay to watch (that goes without saying) but also those who hate him because of his antics will pay to hopefully see him get knocked out. Tyson Fury plays this game as did Haye in his day.

I can only imagine you are referring to the 2 Cleverly fights and the Stevenson fight that you reckon his box office credentials have gotten him.

Whilst he might be of limited ability, there aren't many boxers who are not, the first fight with Cleverly came about because Bellew was the natural challenger to the title holder.

Again, with Stevenson, Bellew deservedly earned a mandatory shot at the title, despite a couple of dodgy performances, through fighting in the ring, nothing to do with anything away from the ring, thats why I thought his behaviour in Canada was stupid and unnecessary. He could have come across better when on the world stage.

The fight tomorrow was always going to happen, but again, the only thing that would have stopped it was either of them being beaten early doors at the new weight, so it was his fighting in the ring that got this second fight in place. Fair enough he is doing more than Cleverly to hype it but I just wish he'd tone it down a bit, he's not coming across great at times and its become quite boring listening to him now this last week ahead of the fight.

I hope he does the business tomorrow night though, hard for the loser to come back from defeat ,more so Bellew given his age.

Think Bellew has acted like a bit of a prat in the build up to this, even again today at the weigh in, throwing his water carrier into the crowd, I mean, who the fook would want that. I dont really buy the "its to promote the ppv event" argument, he was the same if not worse in Canada, he was lucky Stevenson didn't take him out before they got to the ring. Sometimes you have to act with a bit of class, his behaviour in Canada was embarrassing.

Does anyone know exactly why he "hates" Cleverly, he just seems to rant on not really giving an explanation for it, they were hugging after the first fight and it'll be interesting to see if its like that again tomorrow.

Anyway, I hope Tony wins, but my god if he was a red.....
He's given a couple of reasons, 1 he just doesn't like him, the way he acts, talks, dresses etc, we all know someone like that. 2 after the first fight which was close, Cleverly was saying how he didn't get out of 2nd gear etc..

Think Bellew wins this easily, but I have a feeling he might be underestimating Clev.

Both looked pretty up for it at the weigh in.

I find i difficult to understand why people have bellew as favourite, apart from the so called weight advantage, cleverly's record and apponents he has been in with is much better than bellew's.

2. after the first fight which was close, Cleverly was saying how he didn't get out of 2nd gear etc..

I always wondered if he actually said that. Tony claimed that he said it during the post fight presser, but I've watched it and he didn't? But at the same time, Clev didn't deny it either?

Weird one.

To be honest, I totally agree with you. But that's my hunch mate. Bellew's opponents (bar Chilemba) have been pretty gash.

I would actually like to see Cleverly beat him. Bellew has been a tit during this build up.

Time for a prediction. I know bellew is an evertonian and i have met him couple of times (only for a minute or so)
And he seemed sound, i have also followed clevely,s carear from the early days. So my prediction is with the head with no swayed emotions.
In my honest opinion i think cleverly is the better boxer and has mixed with much better fighters.

I am going for a cleverly win, late stoppage.

Q early ko for bellew.

NATHAN didn't say it and never has. It was his toss-pot dad who was his trainer at the time who said it in this interview a little afterwards.

Bellew just despises Cleverly but Nathan has never done or said anything personal to Tony as far as I know. I honestly think it's just a case of hurt pride because he lost last time but he pretends it something else.

id still want him to knock him even if he was a red.

He's talked about the reason why loads

“The words he said to me in that ring were, that was the hardest fight I’ve ever had,” Bellew insists. “The comments out of his mouth [later] were ‘I never got out of second gear’, ‘it was an easy fight’, ‘I done it with two cracked ribs’. That just infuriates me.”

Bellew’s fighting pride had been stung. “He’s a lying scumbag,” he said. “I can never forgive that.”

Tony continued, “Many fighters have been robbed. Mine wasn’t a robbery, I never said that. What I did say is I thought I did enough to win. It was a close fight it could have gone either way. It should have gone my way.”

The Liverpudlian has had to wait for the rematch he craved. “If I’m ever in a close fight I agree to a rematch on the telly,” he declared. “If he really could beat me so easily why not fight an immediate rematch and get better than the best payday you’ve ever had because I was the best payday, bar Kovalev, that he’s ever had?

That's the thing mate. There is no evidence of Nathan saying that.

Bellew is talking [Poor language removed].

*ps sorry mate but I just googled it there and he did say that!
