Boxing

Never really taken to AJ for some reason, but last night when Conor McGregor jumped in the ring suddenly my appreciation of AJ went up a bit.

Was always a fan of Tyson Fury but the last 18 months of calling everyone a bum and not fighting Uysk has put me off him. Was a shame with Joe Joyce losing the other month

Pre-Usyk I think Joshua would have beat Wilder. No chance now. He looked terrified to do anything and then gave it the big 'un about doing what he wanted to do...nah mate.

I don't think Joshua has ever been a match for Wilder, Joshua gets hit and has a dubious chin, not a good mix in with the most explosive heavyweight.

Joshua has a better chance against Fury than Wilder imho, Fury might want to toy with him and that at least gives him a punchers chance.

Watching Derek Chisora last night reminded me of watching a Joe Joyce fight.

To be fair, Wilders got a weak chin too. He’s been close to getting knocked out a few times. Think Joshua struggles more with shots to the temple than the chin.

Wilder will be peppering AJ all over and he doesn't particularly fight back well to land his own bombs to test anyone's chin. He is too timid and if I was promoting Joshua I wouldn't put him anywhere near a ring with Wilder unless it is the last big payday.

Its happened about twice, maybe three times. its a bravado heavy sport.

Calling a career professional fighter a faux hard man is cringe
Mate, honestly what AJ was saying at the weigh-in was embarrassing.

It was not the fight, nor the opponent for it, imo.

What is the fight and right opponent to do it to then? Doesn’t make sense. It’s boxing, not the WWE.
I can understand the theatrics to get into an opponent's head. That's standard fare in boxing.

AJ faux kicking off when Henenius was just stood there doing nothing was embarrassing. And that's before considering the level of opposition.

Maybe that was his way of getting into his head and for him to get the upper hand on a short notice fight. I don’t see what the big issue is really. Maybe if it’s a different fighter who done that, say a Josh Taylor for example, who always seems to do it, nothing gets mentioned.

It's not a big issue tbh. I suppose my point is that it's a little cringe to be trying to create something from nothing (obvs no build up to this fight so no previous needle), just to get into a far inferior opponent's head.

It was like "what you looking at mate"

Anyway - hope AJ delivers a good'un to Wilder, but doubt it and doubt the fight gets made.
