Boxing

Steroids for personal use only got banned in law in the us in 1989-90. The explosivity that made him so famous suddenly dried up. Juicer.

I'm guessing you have never been around many people if any taking steroids, the young Tyson for one did not look like any athlete who takes steroids - he wasn't particularly ripped at all. Also all of his explosive anger moments came post Clayton/Jacobs/Rooney and D'amato - both D'amato and Rooney would have severed ties if he was using steroids

Nah mate, whilst Tyson did benefit from a division that was at a weak point over the past twenty years, he absolutely tire through it and was for a brief time a force of nature, was never quite the same after he split with Rooney and D'amato was no longer around also - think he left Clayton too around the same time and after that King had his hooks into him and he was on the pretty rapid decline.

A 21-22yo Tyson I'm honestly not sure I've ever seen a heavyweight id have picked against him - and that includes the guys from the 70s-now.

A lot of people are clouded these days about the Tyson from the decline, post Robin Givens/King etc.

A young Tyson though was as close to a perfect fighting machine as I've seen ( even though I don't really like heavyweight boxing much compared to other weights either)
I agree to an extent mate, Tyson 86-89 was a different gravy and would have beaten most. Not sure he would have beaten a prime Lewis though. Lewis beat a worn out Tyson in the end, but I think Lewis post Hasim Rahman would have possibly beaten prime Tyson.
