Boxing

Have to admit I had him behind at the end but although couldn't take that into account too much as the beer goggles were well and truly on at that stage.

You'd wonder would going up be right, he never really troubled Kameda with power, more a case of him tiring than anything, as you said, if that's where the bobs are.
I think it will be a financial decision, a better domestic scene if thats what it come to, like yourself I don't really think he will a massive splash there, but fair play to him, he has maximised his talents, and done well for himself, much like burns did

Credit to both of them for last night, I'm sure they could have arranged much easier bouts domestically.

I can't believe the hype around Joshua. He's fighting the lowest of the low in the worst heavyweight division of all time. Absolutely light years from Wilder, Wlad, Povetkin etc. at the moment and I've seen more than one person compare him to Mike Tyson. Ridiculous.

Blame sky and Eddie Hearn for the hype. He is matchrooms poster boy hence he has fought in most big British city's to bump up his profile . The hype train will continue after he gets Johnson out of there on the 30th may.

I like him but nobody knows how good he can be until he steps up soon.

He also won olpic gold. He's young powerful and showing promise. The fact is there aren't many fights out there and his fights won't be easy to make either.

He should be aiming to clear up domestically within 5-6 fights then go abroad.

Oh aye I'm not saying he's a bum and he could well be world champion for a long time, but comparisons to Tyson already ffs.

I would like to see Joshua fight price in the summer. that will be a real test and a bit of a shoot out.

Got to say, was talking about this with he lads on Saturday, Joshua v Price. I don't see it being made though, far too risky for Price, who, if he gets beat comprehensively, would end up being 'just another bum Joshua KO'd in two'. Price needs confidence building fights before this will ever be considered, imo.

As @steken1 says, I have a bit of sympathy for Hearns with Joshua, a gold medal winning heavyweight is going to be easy to hype, but like he says matchmaking him must be a bit of a nightmare in that division, he needs stepping up now for sure, but theres not all that much of an upward curve in his division and a real lack of opposition, Price, Briggs or thompson might be the way to go. Would be a shame if he doesn't get to wlad before he retires because there really isn't anything for him to fear there
