Boxing

Makes Roy jones jnr's achievement incredible as he started around middleweight.

It's a staggering achievement putting him up there with the likes of bob fitzsimmons for moving up there was a lot of talk that Harry greb would maybe have done it if Dempsey would have made the fight. The only caveat I'd put on it is that Roy did sort of drop in and out whilst haye (not comparable in terms of history obviously ) moved up and made a career at that weight.

Looks like Peterson has tested positive for PED's , it's a disgrace but to a surprise and boxing needs to clean up its act over testing and soon

used to have a video of two yanks cant recall there names for ring magazine, going through the ranks and picking who they thought was the best out of each weight division,
it went from the likes of Sullivan right through to about mid seventies , some wonderful footage on it harry greb was on it. how good could he have been with better vision and Dempsey he looked one hard man, some of those fighters around the thirty's were fantastic Sugar Ray Robinson got picked out as the best ever to beat ali into second, now were down to fury at six in the ibf, and oliver mccall at 32 what a joke.
by the way sheed , klitschko is on the bbc online sports in a vid giving the interview nothing much really, but thought you might like to see it

Thanks again mate , yeah the book us about hagler, hearns, duran & leonard and it just an easy and informative read . There is a bit about what happens when a big skinhead is kicking off at a 'little foreign fella' outside the hagler/minter riot without realising it was vito antuofermo !

I said before Haye can sell a fight but nothing like audley he's amazing , admittedly he's lost it now but even when he was awful he'd convince the wider boxing world he 'was up for this one ' and sorted another payday , amazing really. The amount of people who backed him in the haye fight was just bizarre although bade for a healthy betfair and again everyone lumped on price to not lose a round in that fight . Audley just loves the money and the man for whom the phrase ''has every attribute in the word to be a succesful boxer .... Except a heart' was invented for .

Really ? You've try and go mate just to tick it off and the arena is decent and if your local easy enough to go to . The cheap seats at the back are ok now all the venues have a big screen and if a local lads fighting its bouncing. I've seen a good few works title fights over here , Germany , Vegas and New York and generally enjoyed them , the early Hatton fights in particular were great for atmosphere .

The big fat BBC cheque killed audley's desire before he'd even react started and yeah it was a Shame.

My did was a big fan but My mums brother was very decent Amateur but he was killed in action WWII so she took up the mantel and she already had a taste from watchin him so she was mad on it . When I was growing up she'd be up in the middle of the night for it and even now in her 80's she's up listening to the fights if a Brit is on and will watch in on the sky replay. I remember us all sitting round as a family watching the midweek boxing , some up,and coming no nonsense fighter called mike Tyson !

I'm always more of a blues fan obviously but there is just something about the boxing at its best there really is no sport like it
