Boxing

Cheers mate appreciate that .

I absolutely love all that boxing history stuff. I could watch and listen to any of it , went I first went to Madison Sq Garden I was like a kid thinking who else had been there . Greb is or of them so many gave never heard of but was immense , I grew up with a dad (but mostly ) a mum raving about it so got it all. If you ever read and haven't read it read the four kings mate it's just the best boxing book I've ever read .

Fantastic book, my favourite era as a boxing fan. Haggler was my favourite.

So Bellew is a toff?
Is this a tittle match

Massive blue , comes out to Z cars ,wears everton colours/crest on his shorts and he also trains up at Finch Farm on occasion.

It's a title eliminator mate , a win secures him a shot against the champion Chad Dawson (provided he wins the Stevenson fight )

Weakness I think he's way too open defensively , or he was. Tony took a couple of knockdowns on the way to a couple wins (knocked down twice against Mackenzie ) . At this time he had a rep as a knockout merchant but he's seemed to have totally altered his style , for the better results wise if not for the wider audience if that makes sense ? Bellew now looks like he can mix it up a bit and in my opinion he's the better fighter for it. Tony's certainly got a dig but rather than massive one punch power for me its when he hurts someone he's happy and talented enough to finish them .

Tony lost a close decision to cleverly for the title ,where you could argue he maybe could have took if or perhaps not but he certainly didn't lose by the judges scores. Since that fight he's probably improved a fair bit and cleverly had stalled in my opinion .

The weight worries me a little bit with tony as well . Overall I think he's a really decent fighter and not out of place at the top level . whether he's a little bit short amongst the best we'll have to wait and see but I think he's a cracking lad and deserves another title shot.

I think this could be a very tough fight as well.

I thought he'd done enough to beat Cleverley, so do the commentators if I remember correctly, and so, I think, did Cleverly who refused to entertain the idea of a rematch, even though it was a brilliant and pretty even fight, knowing perhaps, he might well lose with different judges.

Hope Bellew gets another crack at him.

Also Sheeds, totally agree about Bellew improving and Cleverly stalling since, and I think a lot of that is also due to marketing. Bellew is signed on with Eddie Hearn and he's the best promoter in boxing for me right now, really clever at what he does. He's engineered it so that tonight's winner will be clearly recognised as the number 1 contender for a world title shot, and he's done it brilliantly.

Going with Sky instead of a PPV has got Bellew some great exposure, same thing that's happened with Carl Froch recently.
