Boxing

Eubanks sports story on itv4 tonight.
Outstanding.

Loved that. Those days there seemed to be a big fight on terrestrial TV every Saturday night. I used to be the only one cheering Eubank on in his big fights in a pub full of Benn/Watson etc fans. Very poignant moment in that when he talks about the punch that caught Michael Watson in the 11th. Some great memories with him and Benn. As Homer would said 'makes boxing today look like crap.'

I don't like Broner but he might have a beef. Its looking like Midana is taking stuff here. Plus Midana does look more cut than in previous fights.

They used to have Benn fights on ABC network in the afternoons in the states. I always loved watching him, one of my fav all time fighters. Those fights made me a boxing fan.

Been away for a bit, have any of the local lads or otherwise heard the rumours about david price, I know he has changed trainer yet again, but apparently just before the orlov fight got cancelled he was about in town on nights out, close to tears saying he cant fight anymore. Its a shame if true as he isnt without talent, but heavyweight boxing is no place for someone with those sort of mental issues

I haven't heard anything myself. I know a few people who go the gym he was training at, at one point. A good coach should put him back on track. A move away from the city would do him good too IMO.

He's obviously limited but there's not many who aren't. There's some big domestic fights to be had if he puts 3/4 decent wins together.

was at salisbury wasnt he? I knew a few lads who boxed there back in the day, apparently there was a youtube vid that got removed, no idea how true it is. Like you say the domestic scene is hotting up, whether the talent is top class or not, theres some decent fights and good money to be made. Its not a great sign his, first fight with Booth getting cancelled then he changes trainer again

Yes mate. Trained there for years. Think a more professional environment may be needed. More than a few ropey characters go through there. Not that he's not professional himself by the way. I've no way of knowing that.

It's all about the money now for Bellew, Price and the likes. They've got relatively short times left and need to make as much as they can before it's all over. I doubt either man thinks they'll unify divisions or win world titles tbh.

Them Sauerland people seem a good fit for him.

Mayweather vs Pacquiao back on for September?

http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2014/jan/02/mayweather-pacquiao-fight-2014-september

Probably a few years too late, just as Mayweather wants it so he's 'guaranteed' another win.

Would still be fun though.
Both parties need to share the blame for this fight not taking place earlier, think these rumours have been killed off now anyway so I would'nt get your hopes up for september.

Also, Mayweather is 'guarenteed' wins because he is by far the best boxer of his generation
