Tony Pulis certainly knows how to set up a defence. Galloway will have learned a lot this season , certainly won't have played as much as he would have liked, but I would bet that he is a better defender now than at the start of the season.

Hopefully, a short term loss for a long term gain.

Galloway impressed when he was with us, lots of pace, good height and decent crosser of the ball! If we were ever forced to play him and Holgate as full backs they wouldnt disgrace themselves! I think both will end up as centr halves!

they wouldn't disgrace themselves but they would offer you nothing going forward.their first instinct is nearly always check back.

I'd have gone for the classic "come again mate" response myself.

Anyway, Galloway, from memory, more than half decent defensively, not so good going forward.
I remember watching him playing for the U23's before he made the first team and I thought he was awesome and would be as comfortable on the ball as Stones is, but would likely fill out more and be more imposing physically. As yet, it hasn't happened, but hopefully he'll get some first team footie next season somewhere, if not with us, then out on loan somewhere.

We need a specialist left-back to replace Baines not more of these can-kinda-play-left-back-but-aren't-one players. Same with Holgate on the other side.
