Kid looks a proper player to me. Really impressed today, in particular within the context of being part of such a young defensive unit. I like his attitude and the aggression he shows - both in the sense of getting into a tackle and generally making things happen for himself.

Along with Ross he was our best player yesterday. Really nice to see that he joins the attacks and not just as an alibi (e.g Neville/Hibbert), he actually wants the ball in and around the penalty area and does great things when he has it.

As Steele says, this doesn't bode well for Garbutt. But I can live with that as long as Galloway delivers :)

What I most like about Galloway is his attitude, aggressive and full of self belief. It would be easy for him as a young defender playing out of position to just sit back and defend but he is really trying to impose himself. Set up a goal last week and could have scored a couple this week. He has that bit of nastiness and arrogance that Ashley Cole had which is one of the reasons he has been more successful than Baines. Baines is more talented than Cole but is almost too nice a bloke to be a top player. Doesn't seem to assert himself enough at international level.

With Baines and Garbutt hopefully available at left back next season can anyone else see this lad playing a lot at defensive mid. He looks like he is more comfortable in the centre but I wouldn't risk at centre half for a couple of seasons.

Maybe not an exciting thing to say but he looks like he can actually defend setpieces. Wherever he plays that will be bringing in a few points if he stays in the team. Agree that keeps Baines out on his form of last couple seasons

With Funes Mori able to step in over there and Oviedo still capable of making a comeback Baines is going to have to show his worth for us from now on by rolling back the years a bit to some of his best displays. I've always thought that, as good as he is going forward, we always suffered defensively with him. He's not a terrible defender by any means. But he could get caught up the pitch.
