None of those three are THAT big abroad.

Rangers and Celtic have ex-pat supporters which is not quite the same thing. They obviously have a lot of local support (I say local, there is some major glory hunting going on in Scotland) but the fans abroad are mostly just people who would support them anyway.

I have never seen an overseas Spurs fan to be honest! I'm sure they exist but there isn't loads of them or anything.
Good point that actually. Tbh, I myself can't really remember ever meeting a non English Spurs fan over here.

Spurs are obviously someway off the other 5 clubs involved in this in terms of global support but they've always been quite well known because they've had plenty of well known glamour players over the years such as Klinsmann, Van Der Vaart, Modric, Bale etc... which naturally has increased their profile globally.

Not really sure what global fanbase Rangers or Celtic have, does the SPL even have foreign broadcast rights ?

edit: also

Obviously a joke but still funny

Why any Everton fan would want Rangers or Celtic in the same league I don't know, both huge clubs who would compete in top half of the league with access to the same revenue as other premier league clubs.

You're consistently wrong about just about everything but with this post it seems you've finally lucked out on being correct about something.

Dunno about Celtic and Rangers having more fans than Spurs though. Spurs have huge fanbase locally and way more fans abroad.
I don't want Celtic or Rangers anywhere near the English league, it would be devastating for Scottish football as a whole, however I think you're underestimating their fan base around the world which is massive and very loyal even passed down generations, don't forget they also sell out their stadiums every home game with 60,000 at Parkhead alone.

Okay mate, but still my point stands, that I haven't actually met any non English Spurs fans myself. I'm sure there will be quite a few, but I've met Dutch Hammers (probably one of the better supported English teams here, for some bizarre reasons whatsoever). Met Dutch Villa fans, Leeds and of course United, Liverpool and a few Arsenal. Never met a non English Spurs fan in person though.

I think if the 6 Premier league teams had left, this could have been a thing. But now that's not happening, it doesn't make sense.

If 6 teams had left it would have been a sort of "damage control" phase for the Premier league. How do you replace 6 teams?

One way to do that could have been to add some of the Scottish teams and you could do that without the normal promotion and relegation.

I think if the league was down to 14 teams, you could add 2 Scottish teams and 4 championship teams.

You could even go further and add the top 6 from SPL into the EPL, I'm not sure outside of the top 2 in Scotland the others have a global draw.

As it stands, with the 6 staying, it makes no sense to add the Scottish teams. The Premier league is a strong league and the argument will be that the Scottish teams have not earnt a place in the Premier league

Seems a bit unfair on the rest of the Scottish league though surly. Poaching their best teams for the benefit of ourselves. Seems a little Super League to me

I wouldn’t mind that but don’t think the scabby six would agree to that. If they had their way they’d have the league club completely abolished as they don’t like the extra games.
They wouldn't want those old firm at the same trough as them knowing they have the potential to overtake the existing Scab 6 in time.

That's not much of an indicator though. You could set up a fanclub with one person. Dynamo Tbilisi has an English fan club etc.

I'm sure Spurs do have some fans from all over the world, most clubs do, but they are hardly a global brand. Nor should they want to be really.

It's a no from me on this one.
English clubs don't need the bile and hatred that the two Glasgow 'giants' bring to town with them.
I clearly remember the last time Rangers came to visit us for a 'friendly' game.
You're too right. If you want guaranteed trouble and offensive behaviour in the streets of England you'll get it in handfuls if the ugly sisters ever got their way in to the prem. Headaches for the police too.
Besides, what a painful dilemma for our Cork colleague as the Gers trot out at Goodison! Does he root for us first half only?
