Would have been utter scenes had he marked his return to premier league football by scoring at the ground he made his name for us at.

The support he gets is remarkable. Has he been considered such a hero since he scored against United? I wouldn't have thought that a player could become a living legend for one goal (okay, a really important one).

Did well today I thought. A few bad touches but that's to be expected really. Held the ball up front more than Lukaku when he got it and that was a great effort at the end.

Him scoring at the death again there would have been stuff dreams are made of.

Why didn't you just be nice and let in De Gea, ffs you monster!

I wouldn't have thought that a player could become a living legend for one goal (okay, a really important one).

Other examples of this phenomenon are Mike Trebilcock (two goals in his case), Andy King and Barry Horne.

Just like Brian, these three players will be forever remembered for a goal scored in a particular game.

Just the mention of their names evoke images of a red letter day in Everton folklore.

Did more than SP who did not look as fit - and is injured again Tim Howard failed to noticed him so kindly kept the ball in play for UNT to win 2-1!!
I'm thinking Peanuts is coming close to hanging up his boots. Looks like his body cannot withstand the rigors of footy anymore. As for Oviedo baby, I thought he did fantastically well. Great energy and some good skill in tight areas.

Pienaar has passed it. I'd expect him to go soon. I know he isn't fit, but he's slow, he hasn't got a shot on him. All he has is the fact that he wins us a [Poor language removed] load of freekicks.

I think that's incredibly harsh on Pienaar.

When it comes to movement and intelligence, he's miles ahead of any of our other wingers - his problem is keeping fit.

Look at our other wingers: Mirallas, McGeady and Atsu are very similar - fast players but not great passers - Pienaar gives us something completely different to them and his link up play with Baines is still second to none.

One thing I am sick of down that left is the constant triangles Baines, Pienaar and Naismith/Osman/Lukaku play. As shown yesterday with our goal, just get it in the bleeding box!
