Glad this is just getting a pin out, probably has been planned for ages. Was a little worried he'd picked up a new injury. Hope he recovers quickly, looking forward to see him do the business this season.

Everton FC defender Bryan Oviedo is raring to go after having the screws removed from his leg which were preventing him running at full speed. The 24-year-old returned to action in last month’s Capital One Cup game at Swansea City and subsequently featured league against Manchester United at Old Trafford. But it was decided that he needed to undergo a further medical procedure after he reported that the screws in his leg were hindering his movement.

He said: “I feel very well, much better right now after I’ve had the screws taken out. “It’s fantastic because before they stopped me when I ran - but now I feel much better and I hope to be ready for the next games.” The Costa Rican is now praying his 10-month injury nightmare is behind him. “I hope so,” he said after meeting fans at the Everton One store. “Sometimes it’s difficult when you come back from a long injury but at the moment I feel very good and I hope to play as quickly as possible.

“It’s difficult when it’s a long injury because you have to be careful when you come back. I think the manager wants to be careful with us and we need to recover as quickly as possible because it is good for us and I want to play football games.
“The manager has been fantastic with us, with me and Arouna (Kone) when we were injured. He always supported us, all the team and the staff supported us too and that is very good for us because you feel the support and that is fantastic.”
