I can honestly see Oviedo staying, and starting a lot of games on the left side of midfield. Reasons?If Oviedo leaving means Garbutt staying I'm in.
1- Pienaar's age. With increasing injury issues, he must almost be done now.
2- The status of most of our other wide players: Atsu and Lennon are both on loan and will probably leave in the summer, Mirallas may or may not be on his way (please God I hope he stays!) and McGeady is IMHO not starting quality.
3- Baines' age. Garbutt may be the long-term replacement (fingers crossed), but you still need two players who can cover the position. When Baines calls it a day, that's Oviedo and Garbutt.
The trick is getting Oviedo and Garbutt to accept bit-part roles for the present.
