Brought us some decent films and had some funny self deprecating humour on chatshows in recent years, RIP Burt Reynolds.

So sad. Burt was my absolute hero as a kid. I always say if I could transport myself into any other person I would have loved to have been Burt in the late 70's early 80's. The man oozed charisma and charm and a sense of fun.

We are losing the last of the great age of Hollywood actors. I'm off to have a stiff drink or 5.

He was going to play Han Solo, but turned it down.
Also turned down playing James Bond too I believe.

Led some life it must be said.

Could have been John McClane in Die Hard, also turned down the Oscar winning part that Jack Nicholson had in Terms of Endearment which I believe was specifically written for him. You name it he could have been it!

One of my all time favourites.

An absolute staple of my early movie experience in stuff like Smokey and the Bandit, and the Cannonball Run movies.

Then my dad made me watch Deliverance. Crikey.

RIP.

Deliverance was his only Oscar.

Even as an Oscar winner, he still seemed never to have been taken seriously as an actor.

The epitome of cool at the time.

One of the only straight fellas that could carry off a tache like that.
