You think the Belg lad would have started against, Newcastle, i would have been astounded, MAte we have loads of option especially in midfield. What the worse that can happen Felli drops back and wee Stevie starts behind Jela, Belg Kev starts we win - every things gravey!

The worst that can happen isn't that we win though.

The worst is Nev starts there and we lose.

I'd like that, but at the moment all I can see is Phil Neville in midfield. He may drop Felli back (doubt it) but he will not play Fellaini alongside anyone other than Neville.

Aahh but we haven't had the sting in the tail yet lids, we will lodge an appeal, some brown envelops will reach the right inside pockets and he will be an Everton player this time next week. All part of the Everton drama......er then again maybe not!

Any weaker than what? Than it was yesterday? Of course it isn't.

Than it was a weak ago? Yes, yes it is because we've lost a player to injury.

Weaker than it was before the summer? Probably not, we had cover for Gibson then but none for Pienaar, Baines or Jelavic and no starter at RW.

Weaker than we want it to be? Clearly, otherwise we wouldn't have being chasing around looking for a DM.

I thought that we needed cover for gibson, now we don't have it and he's injured we're in trouble, imo. This upsets me, thats all.

We use the squad mate as my post above, even Pienaar can come inside or Ossie with Felli as anchor, or play Nev or Heitinga beside Felli or go Heitinga, Neville as a sheild infront of the back four. That said im not convinced Gibbo is very badly injured. He may be touch and go for Newcastle but its not like hes gone for months.

The Heit has played with him before as has Ossie. But yeah he will prob go with Nev, i think he would went with Nev regardless if Gibbo was fit, or the Belg was there.

Anyway i expect there is a bit to go with this Fifa have torturous appeal proceduers and genrally relent, there is something a miss here by the looks of it especially as it made the deadline.

Did you miss the posts where people suggested that? Unfortunatly its just as likely that Neville plays in midfield.

And there's no way in hell a 34 year old right back would play defensive mid for any of our rivals for a euro spot.

But he will for us. Sure, its mainly cause moist has a hardon for Neville regardless of ability or better options but if this Belgian guy (or any other dm better than Neville) came in even moist would have to drop Neville to play them.

But we didn't sign anyone so we are severly weakened any time Neville plays in midfield because he's not good enough to be playing there every week for a team aiming for Europe in 2012.

And even though Heitinga is better than Neville he's still a defendewr who has no place in midfield.

Why is an average man u reject so important to us? Because he's a midfielder who actually plays as one, and our options for replacing him are not of the same type player unless moist stops playing Fellaini as a striker, who isn;t one.

Sadly, he's 35... and a half.

Gibson is important due to the role he played. He was surplus to requirements at United as they had a wealth of talent in midfield but that doesn't make him a bad player. He does the simple stuff well and he has excellent positioning. I badly, badly underrated him before he joined to be honest.

Having Neville in midfield instead of Gibson is like starting 1-0 down.
