Can Ireland beat France?

You're right, in a one off game. Over two legs it becomes much harder for the underdogs. Remember Scotland a few years ago...?

Scotland 1-0 Holland
Holland 6-0 Scotland

True Adam but I do believe Ireland have a bit more about themselves these days under Trapatoni................and as I say I do hope they do it, even if its just for Neilers sake mate(y)

They do and I also hope they go through. Speaking of Scotland, they beat France home and away the other year so anything is possible.

France have been truly shocking the last few campaigns. However you can bet your bottom dollar they will find a bit of form against us. Our midfield pairing of Glen Whelan and Keith Andrews is piss poor and would struggle in the Championship.

Draw in Croker and a 'brave' defeat in Paris.

I hope France go through. The comedy factor of them not qualifying now will be lessened come the tournament when their matches will be much more appealing to watch than Ireland's.

Still, 6 reasons why Ireland can beat them from this football article on World Cup betting, and these don't even include Domenech using astrology to pick his team! He's managed to upset Thierry Henry now, of all people. Who is apparently the best footballer in the world (cough). Toni and Pique make this list. I just can't believe Hibbert's not on there.

Agree that France is a more appealing team, but I just happen to like the Irish a lot more. Anelka vs Carsley, or Ribery vs Neiler, it's no contest really.:P

Exactly.

Why is your english so much better than mine?

Thanks I guess. Is it really that good? Can't help it, but I'm never fully convinced about that.

It's good mate, you should be proud.

I'm learning a bit of spanish, and am gonna try to push the german on a bit, but could never reach your level of linguistic skills.

Would really love to see us do this, but I have to say if I had the choice I would far sooner see Everton win at least two of the next three games (United, Hull, and them).
