Can we end our away derby drought?

Expecting bad tackles by them to go unpunished and classed as “Part of the game” and us to have a dodgy sending off

Their season has fallen apart, they will be seeing this as a massive chance to undo the loss at home and get some retribution for Van Dijk.

They will be right up for it, tackles flying in, probably playing Phillips/Davies in defence for some 'old fashioned CB play'.

I'm expecting injuries and unpunished red card challenges from them. Sitting deep and pumping it long to the front 3.

Oh ye of little faith ,we should be up for this Carlo will have them snapping at the bit .Every confidence in the new found bite and their ability to grind out a result.Oh and we have Ben Godfrey.

No fear of this rabble.

Minus the Viking hoardes in the stands, it is just about game strategy, execution and quality of players.

I trust Carlo will get the strategy right.

I think there is way less chance that we dont turn up mentally than usual.

Hopefully this week will be kind to us injury wise. They have better forwards. We gave a better defence. This is not a patch on last years RS team.

Starting to suspect the prima donnas are starting to tire of running around like roadrunner and that the playbook of the final period of Klopp at Dortmund may be starting to play out.

Think we have a great chance.

I know we all want to win this game, and see an end to our Liverpool drought, never mind the Anfield element. But we have to put our emotions to one side if possible and approach this game pragmatically.

This game is not just about local pride like most derbies in the past have been, we are now seriously competing with Liverpool for a place in the Champions League. Win our game tonight against Fulham and we have the edge. So for me, the most important thing is that we don't lose the game.

Despite their current run of results they are still a very dangerous side and if we approach the game in the wrong way they can quite easily pick us apart. We need to keep it tight and hope for a set piece or moment of magic. A narrow win will be fantastic obviously, but I'll be happy with a draw in this one.

We have 2 more games first this week. The derby an irrelevance right now
Depends on how Carlo chooses to approach this passage of three games though, in terms of managing player fitness and balancing short-tern goals ("win the next game") against medium-term goals ("maximise player fitness to increase chances of winning the winnable games").

Personally, I would be using the players who were rested for the cup win against Spurs as the spine for beating Fulham, then I would rest any key players who need the rest against City - I don't care about that result. I want a full-strength team available to face the RS, because I feel that the fixture is more winnable than the midweek game against City. There are a multitude of reasons why, if forced to choose, I would rather win against the RS and lose to City than have those results reversed... I doubt we have the squad depth required to win BOTH of those games, and we need the three points and the potential goal difference improvement from beating Fulham.

The build up to this derby has bottle job written all over it.

Liverpool in a terrible run of form, Klopp looks like he’s had enough, they can’t defend, their keeper is around the bend.

While Everton look like a corner has been turned....

Well all know deep down what’s going to happen.
