2024 was the election where the rulers of the US cut the umbilical cord to a percieved democracy.
Some realise and contest that democracy in the West was only ever illusory, now the illusion is removed and the dogs keep nodding out of habit, not awareness. It's naked fascism, the marrying of corporations and state in Mussolini fashion.
Oh, and when I say 'rulers' I don't mean the dancing gibbons on your telly, I mean the ones who pull their strings, the ones you'll never know.
I respectfully disagree.

It wasn't the "leaders" on the telly who cut it. Nor the "ones pulling the strings" as you call it.

It's much deeper than that. It was US. The People. The voters.

WE CUT THE CORD

And that's the problem. This never could have happened without the voters willingly doing it

It's not how it works. While I've seen plenty of buyers remorse among the independent types, his die-hard followers are genuinely a cult, and that is not a spell easily broken. They have plenty of mental avenues at their disposal to avoid confronting the fact that, to any reasonable person, he is quite obviously a dangerous, incompetent clown. He's playing 5D chess, it's Biden's fault, the Deep State are trying to undermine him etc. They simply have little to no critical thought, and no amount of empirical evidence will sway them.

And in the end when they’re proven wrong they’ll forget they ever took this position, or play it off like they weren’t involved

Great to see musk has piped down a little since realising how everyone hates him, I think he was quite surprised just how loathed he became
I know for a fact that most South Africans who live in the US, tell people they’re from Zimbabwe, when asked where they’re from.

That’s how much they are ashamed and embarrassed of having any type of association to do with that clown.

And if I have any understanding of USA internal politics the Trump electorate don't regret a single thing.

It's absolutely frightening.

Oh believe it mate.I was on holiday in Orlando during the Super Bowl.Went out for a ciggie and they all thought the QUEEN ran Britain.

Better than The Beatles that is. I got asked in Chicago (in 1988) if I knew them and he looked that gobsmacked when I kept a straight face and said I did (I don't but I have since met McCartney a couple of times) that I couldn't then let him down and I kept it going by saying we lived in the same street. I think he thought everyone in Liverpool lives in the same street.

I disagree to you disagreeing. If that was the case then YOU, the people, could claim back what has been lost just as simply.
It's theaters and stages, performers, actors and audience. You, the people did nothing but acquiesce, walked willingly into fascism, knowingly, but believing it was something else, a cleaner, justifiable fascism. But it had victims, weaker, projected üntermenschen, that took, still take, all the blame.
It's not me pointing the finger, jeez this country, this continent, is in no better state, but don't perpetuate the delusion this was some uprising, a thought inspired revolution. What happened was snake oil being bought, wholesale.
A new religion is born.
