It's not egocentric, it's based on irrefutable evidence that humankind has more influence on the change in the planets cycles than any other variable, its not a prize the scientific community has warded. Acknowledging that harming biodiversity is a bad thing is a bit like Acknowledging water is wet. Comparing a species natural evolution with anthropological degradation of natural habitats and biodiversity in the last couple of centuries is ridiculous.

It's not just the kids. I'm not far off 60 and will see food prices ramp up as growing conditions deteriorate and poverty will increase. As on the last ice age, eople will want to migrate to better climates but now we have artificial borders to protect. Wars will result. Then crowding and disease / famine.
I've been warning kids about it for 30 years. They're momentarily bothered then go home and get distracted by trash tv, news musdirection or games. Heads in the sand.
The earth will survive though, just not us. Its a major reason I never wanted kids.

Saw an interesting video where some US politician was being quizzed on what effect spending $50tn on climate measures would have on average temperatures. Couldn't/Wouldn't answer.
So you have to wonder what difference all this money that we are being taxed and spent on.
Especially when you have poorer or population dense countries who don't or can't make any effort.
We can do our bit, but too much of the world can't or wont.

Well here you go ... as if by magic the bbc has posted a story about the environment ... a person who feels the same as me - apart from its not affecting my mental health or causing anxiety because I'm from a different nite stoic generation. Of course it gets into the news because its a woman as ever.

Absolutely yes. It isn't perfect but they have to be able to land in zero visibility (or as close to) because weather fronts (think snowstorms) can 'close in' and emergency landings can be forced. So long as all instrumentation is sound, they're trained for it.
