A chance to kick the crap out of them over 2 games, giving them 2 tough games with the 2nd leg at Goodison.

Would have taken it all day every day. Out of all the teams left at the QF stage, we would have been the team they would have wanted to avoid.

They'll have that semi final wrapped up by the first leg against Fulham

No Salah too as he's on Afcon.

No wonder we are a club of losers when most of our fans are beaten before kick off.

You don’t know them very well clearly.

I do Mike unfortunately and the one thing they don't like are physical sides who are solid and defend deep. We could have really given them a game (or 2).

At some point we have to start not being so shyt scared of playing them and hoping to avoid them.

In the current form we are in, we would have caused them enough issues where they wouldn't dare dream of rotating. At worst it would have meant they'd have to take their eye off the league for a game or 2.

They would have rotated the normal amount and still beat us in the most painful and agonising way. We haven’t beaten them in a real football match for 13 years. It’s for the best that we don’t add another two games against them in my opinion.

Players will be gutted with that draw.

Chance to write themselves into folklore in a season of much pain.

Onana you big idiot.

love the sentiment but honestly not sure we would get over the line and I'm really worried about injuries, what it would take out of us and falling back down the table with fixtures coming up.

Or a chance to make a name for themselves and change "the story" as Dyche likes to repeat.

If its been 13 years since we last won then surely its time to break that cycle isn't it?

Well I guess we'll just have to wait then for a season where we get League 1-2 opposition from 2nd round to final then.

Hasn't happened in the last 30 years but maybe the next 30 years will be different

I'm sorry to say this but I am glad that we lost yesterday. It was written in the stars that we would draw that lot and also that we would lose in the most heartbreaking manner. Like a 99th minute own goal by Michael Keane or some other disaster. Bullet dodged.
I don't want to see another humiliation at the hands of that lot.

If the semi final draw was made before our game and it was beat Fulham and we have Liverpool, would you actually want us to get beat or would you rather us be in a cup semi final

My grandson was there and cried when we lost. His innocent enthusiasm at the prospect of winning a trophy was both uplifting and amusing to a cynical care-worn old Blue like me. We need to get more of that optimism back in supporting the team.

We would of got more injuries in 2 hard fought games like that and either got humiliated or lost to luckypool as I like to call them in luckypool fashion

No wonder the club doesn’t win anything with some of the reactions in here. A two legged semi final against Liverpool. There’d have been no downside for us, everyone would expect us to lose, they’d have absolutely hated it, and had we won it would have been a huge moment to start turning round the mentality of the club. Going out the cup early to avoid facing top teams is not the mentality that wins anything.
