See here is another issue, ok Frank got this badly wrong, but should that starting 11 still of been good enough to win? Looking at it they should
I really have to completely disagree.

I looked at names like holgate, keane, davis doucoure and went opps we are in trouble. honestly I knew that's at least 3 big mistakes and an amount of backwards slow passing so for me no we were never good enough to win on paper in first place.

losses like this against Bournemouth’s reserves, even if it is in the league cup, will have any confidence we have left shot to pieces. Wouldn’t be surprised if we get beat again on Saturday. They have most of their 1st team to come back in. We won’t see much improvement in our first 11. Sad times ahead.
They made 9 changes and we played last seasons first team minus Richarlison and DCL.

Ony for the away wins in empty stadiums he would of to

I think it does wash. The whole team was back to the nervous setup from last season. No confidence in the centre backs breeds lack of confidence all over the pitch. We've let four on tonight and it could have been more. Even at our worst this season no team has looked like taking us apart like that. There are certain players that should never wear the blue shirt again and the fact you say that Bournemouth also made changes makes it even worse.

I think you're right - Mina, Holgate & Keane all have to go I'm afraid. Davies, Doucoure too, and I don't get McNeil and Maupay - so ineffective on the pitch considering they're attacking players I would prefer Nkounkou if he's doing well at Cardiff, and it looks like in January we need another midfielder, attacker and CB to support Tarkowski, Coady and Godfrey. If any of our young players are realistic, i'd much rather they play than the people i've mentioned above.

The first goal was mental. Second was hard lines for Holgate slipping. The last 2 were just too easy for them. First half we created chances and should have got a goal or two. Don't want to pile on the lads playing tonight as they must know this wasn't good enough.

The scoreline is inevitably going to increase at least the perception of pressure on Frank, but look at their goals: 1) a lucky deflection off both a defender and the underside of the bar, 2) Holgate randomly slips, 3) counter attack when we're pressing for the equalizer, 4) Patterson gets his pocket picked. What is he supposed to do about any of that (at least 3 of the 4)? That's just a combination of bad luck and two horrific moments by individual players.

I mean, the only real thing you could argue with here I think is the decision to play a reserve squad in the first place, but everybody else is also going to do that at this stage of the season in this "less important" competition. I would have liked to see the U21 guys get a longer run out than they did, but other than that, he can only play the players he's been given. He can't make them not fall down, not dwell on the ball for ages when they're the last man back, not miss an easy one-on-one with the goalkeeper. That's just crap players being crap.

For me, this just reinforces that we still have a long way to go in turning over the squad, unfortunately.
Wasn’t that Frank’s excuse when palace battered us in the cup last year too? Four ‘flukey goals’…other than that we were in it.

Unacceptable
Pathetic
Hopeless
Disgraceful

From all concerned from start to finish an absolute embarrassment which should result in heads rolling but will no doubt lead to numerous assine platitudes in the media from terrible players from now until Saturday.

That Bournemouth would be in a relegation fight in the championship!. Yet they put 4 past us. Yes 11 changes but still it’s just pathetic from the manager the coaching team and the players.
We started that game with better and more experienced players than Bournemouth yet they showed us how to win a football match putting ball in the net.

Just back in the minibus now to face this trek home, absolute disgusting again, on the plus side the lads fiver a Man acca went in returning £553 each.
