Carlo Ancelotti Appointed Everton Manager

Carlo has his work cut out as our first dip into the elite manager pool the rank and file will be expecting miracles from such managerial royalty. He needs an eye catching January window together with improvements on the pitch then the completion of a wholesale squad transformation in the summer. He won't be allowed excuses as per previous regimes and ignorance of that demanding little wrinkle won't wash he will be "sleeping with the fishes" near Runcorn bridge if he hasn't worked it out.

In addition he's taking over just as a decent run has been put together by Dunc - fascinating times

Carlo can hardly fail to look good here can he.
After all he is following on the line of luminaries that are Martinez , Koeman , Allardyce and Silva.
Good god what have we had to live through.

A stellar addition. Now give him some time and patience please

There will he runs that include a few losses, this is normal in football, especially for a team at the stage of Everton

Given his pedigree he deserves a lot of time to build something - through the peaks and troughs of that journey

What excites me more than anything with this recruitment is for the first time in years I don't feel like the manager has to be loyal to anyone.

Previous appointments felt like they were told to play X or make Y come good because of previous money spent on them. So we saw the likes of Silva shoehorn players into a team system that didn't fit for the sake of the board signing them for money

Ancelotti strikes me as a manager who does things his way and will play the players he thinks suit him/best for the team. None of this favouritism in the current squad , with hopefully some significant player sales off the back of it.

Combined with one or two additions next month to sure up the team for the rest of the season could see us have a promising second half of the season

As I’ve said before, I don’t want us to break the bank in January. The seasons near enough over realistically. Let the players have a trial till the summer. Bring in a couple January and then break the bank next summer ready to go 20-21.
Why do we all want a load of signings in January? Nothing to impact the spending next summer please
10 points off 4th.. season well on.. Chelsea, Utd, Arsenal arnt doing great, we could really kick in with a few players and fly up the league

Thing is it's so much those teams we have to catch, but Sheffield United Wolves and Spurs, who are all organised
8th would be fine now, the main thing to play for now is the cup, we need a run in that
