It's one of two things - downplaying expectations ahead of bringing in a Moyes or Howe, or Ancelotti's team are annoyed at the leaks and want it stamping out.

The latter would explain why Balague etc. are getting conflicting info to Myers/Sky, because the leaks would be local to Everton.

Unfortunately, I think it's actually more likely to be the former.

Yeah, think it's the former myself, why would Ancelottis team be annoyed about that really if its all nearly wrapped up as suggested, not like its early stage negotiations. Mike Parry is pally with BK and put a tweet out earlier saying he'd prefer a Moyes or Howe over Ancelloti which is just bizarre, could be Bill's tipped him off and he's trying to drum up support. Ofc he is a tit so could be being genuine with that view.
