I can never ignore his impressive record but I also read a lot of reports about him not really pushing players in training etc. which, with our pile of wasters, is dangerous territory.

Hopefully the man is not blind to his own failings and employs some proper coaches then.

My only concern is that he relies on leaders in the dressing room to instill the spirit and work ethic he wants. He's going to walk into Finch Farm, ask to meet with the captaincy group and be presented with Sigurdsson, Davies, Digne and Coleman. There's 2 and a half of those I have absolutely no doubt will pull their tripe out for Everton all day long. There's only one who's a guaranteed starter, though.

Maybe he needs Dunc for that role.

No manager in the world is without risk for a club like us.

Equally though when a manager is interested who has won 15 trophies, including 3 CLs, a premier league & an FA cup, then we are in no position to turn him down.

It's the first big club move we'll have made under Moshiri if we pull it off.

Its the first big move since Kendall left 1st time around (I love Joe Royle but he came from a relegated Oldham side) so imo it's one of the biggest statements of intent shown by Everton in over 30 years.

My lad is absolutely buzzing, none of this Moyes, Howe or Hughes crap, a top man for a club with top fans who deserve nothing but the best and have had to wait far too long to get it.

I can't believe there are some unsure of this. I mean what exactly do you want from football, nobody is ever good enough or isn't a good fit. Well in that case I'll just take Ancelottis reputation as a springboard as obviously winning trophies isn't a pre requisite for Everton.

I haven't caught up on all the posts in here, and only read an article on bbc just now with some quotes which I'm assuming are the statement being mentioned by many this morning, so I don't know if this has come up already, but on Radio 1 news on my way in they said that 'a deal had been agreed in principle'...

People are entitled to different opinions or feelings on subjects even if they don't match your own.

That's the beautiful thing about the human mind.

Good for your lad mate, we need some hope and happiness where Everton are concerned. And just in time for Christmas!
